• A free, light breakfast and lunch meal will be offered to all student participants.
• Bus transportation may be available for students.
• Attendance is critical for student success. Please do not schedule any appointments during course time.
• A student who is absent more than two days will not receive credit for the class.
• Students are expected to be in class on time. 2 tardies = 1 absence. Missing 20 minutes or more of class will be counted as an absence.
• All school rules will be enforced. Discipline will be enforced based on DOE Chapter 19 rules.
• Students with Class A or B offenses will be dismissed from the program. Students with Class C or D offenses will receive one infraction warning before dismissal.

 

Hilo High School will be offering a Summer Bridge Transition course for incoming HHS 9th-grade students. This course will focus on boosting skills needed for a successful 9th-grade year while building confidence and creating a sense of belonging. Students will participate in team-building activities, goal-setting, and field trips. Participants of this course will also learn about student expectations, policies, and procedures. Most of all, students will learn what it means to be a Hilo High School Viking!

The Hilo High School Summer Program is designed to meet the needs of students in an environment focused on success. Students will have the opportunity to take courses for credit recovery or enrichment. The program is open to Hilo High School students in grades 10-12. Students are encouraged to meet with their counselor prior to applying for the summer program.
