Congratulations to Hilo High Japan Wizards Team B: Lauren Spencer (the team captain), Wyatt Lorenzo, and Xochi Gervais for receiving the Dr. Michael Leineweber Award, and a free trip to Japan!
They participated in the Japan Wizards Academic Competition held at Kapiolani Community College hosted by Japanese American Society of Hawaii this weekend along with the Team A: Nami Mommsen-Akiyama, Anna Hall, and Keona Matsui.
Both teams have studied various topics about Japan: history, government, art, music, current news, the language, etc. to prepare for this competition. Especially Lauren and Wyatt had studied for this competition every year for the past four years!
