09/17/2021 KVIKS TV Morning Bulletin

Aloha Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S Morning Bulletin, my name is Dylan, and here are your announcements for Friday, September 17th, 2021 .Today’s periods are 1-3-5-7.

Before we begin our announcements, we will now give our attention to Principal Urasaki.

[Message from the Principal]

Good morning Vikings!  I am here to have a serious talk about areas that need immediate improvement and also announce special guests.  The first item is conduct on campus.  Hilo High School is our home away from home and we need to take care of it and treat it with love and respect.  Copying tiktoks like Devious Licks is NOT ACCEPTABLE.  Stealing items, Vandalizing our restrooms, wasting needed products like soap, toilet paper, paper towels and dispensers is NOT okay and will result in restroom closures.  We all need to look within ourselves and do the right thing, be the positive, respectful Vikings that uphold the tradition of loyalty and honor, by Protecting our House.  Follow ALL school rules, which includes the dress standard, attending all of your classes and doing all of your school work.  There are consequences for your actions, so let’s make it positive!

Today, we are blessed to have special guests visiting us.  CAS Kanehailua, Chief of Staff Masutomi and Superintendent Hayashi are on campus and will be visiting your classes!

Please show your aloha spirit by welcoming them to our home and thanking them for visiting.  Let’s have a great day and show our Viking Pride!

Posted on the Hilo High School website is the Religious Accommodation for COVID-19 Vaccine Memo as well as the request form itself. All student-athletes parent(s)/guardian requesting a religious accommodation MUST complete this form and submit the form directly to DOE Civil Rights Compliance Branch or CRCB Equity Specialist Dee Sugihara at [email protected]. ALL accommodation requests will be decided by the CRCB and NOT by the school itself. The CRCB will be contacting each parent/guardian directly for additional information prior to making a determination. Once a determination is made by CRCB, CRCB will notify the school as well as each family of the decision. ALL CRCB religious accommodations decisions will be FINAL and there will be NO appeals process regarding the decision. If a religious accommodation is granted, each student-athlete will have to provide two negative covid tests per week. Test results must be submitted to the athletics head coach or to the athletic director. Failure to stay up to date with two weekly negative covid tests will result in student-athletes being prohibited from participating in athletics until test results are brought back up to date.

At this time, the DOE does not yet have an approved form for student-athlete medical accommodation requests. Once we receive this we will release this to our families immediately.
