Parents workshops to prepare students for life after school

Aloha and Happy New Year! 
 
We would like to invite you all to join Dr. Rhonda Black from the University of Hawaii at Manoa as she presents two parent workshops regarding preparation for post-secondary transition. The focus of these workshops will be the social skills and independence students need to develop to be successful and contributing members of our community. 
 
First Workshop:
DATE: Thursday, January 13, 2022
TIME: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
LOCATION: Virtual - Zoom
DESCRIPTION:  Discussions and planning for the generalization of skills needed starting in elementary and continuing throughout their school careers. Also, the importance of the work we do together (school and home) in the generalization of skills will be emphasized. 
 
Second Workshop:
DATE: Thursday, February 10, 2022
TIME: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
LOCATION: Virtual - Zoom
DESCRIPTION:  Social skills needed for post-secondary transition and how we develop plans for employment. 
 
Attached you will find flyers for each workshop. Please pass these along to anyone who you think might be interested, especially parents. There is a short registration process, you can find the QR on the flyer along with Dr. Rhonda Black's Zoom link.
