Hey Vikings! Winter Ball is coming up and we want to hear from you! A survey regarding Winter ball is sent to your email. Please fill out the survey as soon as possible as the result of this survey will be used to finalize important decisions for this year’s Winterball.

Outrigger Canoe Paddling Tryouts
If you are interested in participating in canoe paddling for this winter season, please go to the tryout and sign up! The meeting is happening at the pool TODAY during lunch recess.
Boys Soccer Sign Ups
Last call to sign up for Boys Soccer is this Friday Oct 14, 2022. If you do not sign up, you cannot tryout and or participate this school year. Please email coach George your name and parents' email to sign up. In addition, you will need a completed physical and signed consent form prior to participating. More information in regards to practices will be emailed out at a later date.
Hilo High Swim Team
If you are interested in swimming for the HHS Swim Team? Tryouts will be held on November 4, 2022. Every Tuesday and Thursday until that day, there will be technique sessions hosted from 3 - 4 PM at the pool. No club swim experience required.

KUPU Summer Youth Conservation Program
Hey, Junior and Senior Vikings! Do you love the outdoors? Are you passionate about conservation and preservation of our 'aina? Come to N-103 to sign up to learn more about the KUPU Summer Youth Conservation Program. The presentation will be on Thursday, October 20th at 9:00am during period 1. Sign up and pick up a pass from Mrs. Frias to learn more about how to become a Kupu Summer Team Member. Just think - you can get paid to camp and work all over our island during the summer of 2023!
Upward Bound Program
Listen up, Class of 2025 and 2026 - this announcement is for YOU! Are you thinking about what it might be like to go to college, but you're not quite sure how you're going to get there? The Upward Bound Program at UH Hilo can help! See Mrs. Frias in N-103 to sign up and pick up a pass to listen to information about how you might be able to join. Representatives from UH Hilo Upward Bound will be at Hilo High on Thursday, October 20th during pd 5. We hope to see you there!

Youth Art Series Haunted House
Are you looking for some spooky fun this month? The East Hawai'i Cultural Center and Hilo High Art Club would like to invite you to the Youth Art Series Haunted House, opening this weekend at 141 Kalakaua Street. Can't make it this weekend? The haunted house will be open every weekend through the month of October.

[SPOT] ASVAB Testing
All 10th-12th graders, the next ASVAB administration is on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022. The test will be administered in the Learning Resource Center and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot.
Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session has been reduced to 30.
The LRC will be closed all morning on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 to accommodate the test and
reopen during lunch.
[SPOT] Hero Store
Report Cards will be distributed on Monday Oct. 17 in STARS. Bring your report card to the Hero Store (B35) during lunch recess on Monday Oct. 17 and collect some Hero points! You will receive 10 points just for bringing it in to show us. You'll receive an additional 10 points if you don't have any D's or F's, and you could receive an additional 10 points if you have all A's. Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday at lunch!

Boys and Girls Golf
The Hilo High School boys and girls golf team is having sign ups for the 2022-2023 season. All returnees and interested golfers can sign up by calling Randy Pak @ 808-934-0049. Sign ups will run from this week, October 10 to Friday October 14. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Pak.
