Mauna Kea Coin Contest and Hilo Astro Day

Maunakea Observatories Outreach Committee holds the annual Maunakea Coin Contests for all Big Island students in grades K to 12, including homeschooled children.  Students are asked to make a drawing for a design that represents Maunakea, including different aspects like environment, astronomy and culture.
 
The 2023 edition of the contest is now open, with a deadline of March 15.  The contest information has not changed from past years and is available on the website at https://www.mkaoc.org/coin/2023 and the design sheet and contest rules can be downloaded on the official website.
 
Entries can be dropped off at any KTA store before Wednesday, March 15, 2023, or mailed to:
