Good Morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Thursday, November 30th, 2023. I’m Erin. The periods today are 1,3,5 and 7.
Hereʻs whatʻs happening today:
Boys Basketball Pre-Season Tournament (11/30 - 12/1)
Come one and all! Hilo High School is hosting a pre-season boys basketball tournament from Thursday to Saturday at the New Gym! There will be EIGHT teams playing: Hilo 1, Hilo 2, Keaau, Waiakea, HPA, Kealakehe, and from Oahu, Kahuku and Hanalani! The tournament starts at 3 PM on Thursday and Friday and 12:30 PM on Saturday. YOU WONʻT WANT TO MISS THIS!
Winter Ball (11/27-12/1)
If you picked up a Winter Ball Packet and would like to attend, please come to F-Building during lunch today or tomorrow with your completed packet to pay for your admission. Payments are accepted in cash only and change is available if you do not have the exact amount. No more packets will be given out. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
College and Career Vistiations
Today during pd 1 The UH Manoa College Opportunities Program will be visiting At 8:30. If you are interested in any of these upcoming presentations come to Room N-103 to sign up. See you then!

Ceramics Club Meeting (11/30-12/1/)
Ceramics Club Members, we have a meeting Friday during lunch at the ceramics classroom, C-101. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there!
Applications for Academy Student Ambassador (11/29-12/1)
As a Reminder: Students interested in being Academy Student Ambassadors should submit their Student Ambassador Applications to their CTE pathway teacher by this Friday, December 1st, 2023.
Girls Softball (11/29-12/4)
The Hilo High Vikings Girls Softball Team will start practice and conditioning on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Practice will be at the Walter Victor Stadium, Little League Field. Practice and conditioning will be held every day from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. If you have questions, contact Assistant Coach Noe Kalipi at 808-285-2191.
Fellowship Of Christian Athletes Meeting at Pool (11/28/23-12/1/23)
All are welcome to join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club for free home-cooked food, fellowship, and fun down by the pool this Friday during lunch! You don’t need to be an athlete or a Christian just come and see! It was announced previously that it was on Thursday, but it has been rescheduled for Friday at lunch.

Jingle Bell Color Run (11/16/23-11/30/23)
The sophomore and junior class is hosting the 2nd annual Jingle Bell Color Run. December 10th at 3:00 pm at the Hilo Bayfront Soccer Fields… Registration can be made online . This event will benefit not only the sophomore and junior class but you as well. Join in on the fun and sign up for the Jingle Bell Color Run. For more information, please see Ms. MJ Tominaga. Finally, Competitive College Sports (11/21/23-12/1/23)
Are you interested in learning more about playing competitive sports in college? If you are, you're in luck! Hilo High School is teaming up with UH Hilo's Athletic Department to provide all the information you need to get started. Join us on Wednesday, December 6th @ 5:30pm in the Hilo High Auditorium. Let us know if you're coming by scanning the QR code on the flier. All grades are welcome, and we hope to see you there!

Calling all Hilo High Students interested in Poetry! The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the Honolulu Theatre for Youth are currently hosting the 2023-24 Poetry Out Loud Video Submission Contest! To participate, choose two poems from a collection of over 1,000 poems to recite for a chance to participate in the State Finals on February 25, 2024, win $200, and the opportunity to compete for the title of National Champion in Spring 2024!
