[KVIKS NEWS BULLETIN INTRO]

Good Morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Friday, December 15th, 2023. I’m Celeste. The periods today are 2-4-6.

TODAY AT HILO HIGH SCHOOL

The Student Credit Union is BACK with financial Fridays, where they share financial tips to make smart money decisions! This week, the topic is CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! When you are shopping for lots of gifts, it's important to set a strict budget for yourself. Make sure you have a limit to spend on each gift so you don't overspend! To save money, look out for discounts or promotions, and search around to get the best price on whatever you are buying! Finally, make sure to avoid impulse buying by researching the gifts you want to get beforehand to avoid too much overspending. Vikings, this holiday season, make sure to plan your gift buying by budgeting, finding the best prices, and avoiding impulse buying! Hopefully doing this you can save some money to have in the New Year! Interested in learning more about the Student Credit Union? We are open in front of room A-16 at lunch!

WINTER BALL Q&A

Can you believe Winter Ball is already TOMORROW?! We hope you’re as excited as we are for a night of food and fun! Here is some information to know for tomorrow and answers to questions you may have!

Doors to the New Gym, where winter ball will be held, open at 5:00 pm and will close at 6 pm, so be there by then! You CAN NOT get dropped off at the New Gym, instead, you must get dropped off at the main parking lot where a shuttle will take you down. If you’re driving yourself, please park anywhere in the main parking lot or the side of the road, and you can either walk to the gym yourself or ride the shuttle.

When you get to your table, please do not move chairs or tables from where they’ve been set up. While you’re encouraged to socialize with people from different tables, please don’t move the arrangement we already worked hard to create! You can always talk to others on the dance floor or walk around the venue!

Finally, the night will end at 10:00 pm. For your safety, you will NOT be allowed to leave early, unless you have an exemption from the principal.

Here are answers to some questions you may have!

  • What kind of food will there be?

We will be having a sit-down buffet dinner provided by Don’s Grill!

Dinner will be served starting at 6:30, dessert at 8:30, with the dance floor being open from 7:30 to 10:00 pm!

  • Do I have to dress fancy?

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, and try to look nice, but it’s up to you whether or not you want to make it more fancy or keep it toned down! Also, any type of footwear is fine, as long as you have shoes of some sort on!

  • Will we have a DJ?

Yes! We will have a DJ and a dance floor! The DJ also takes song requests, just try to keep your requests appropriate!

We hope this answers some of your questions! If you have any more, we will be answering more of your questions on the Hilo High Instagram Story, so check in there to ask anything else! Happy Winter Ball Vikings!

[OUTRO] Thank you for watching! Find more announcements and watch the bulletin again at hilohigh.org or download the mobile app. Follow @hilohighschool on Instagram and Facebook. This concludes today’s announcements. Have a great day Vikings!
