Student Credit Union Scholarship (2/28/24-3/4/24)

The Student Credit Union scholarship opportunity worth $3,000 DEADLINE IS TODAY March 4th, 2024!! Any senior can apply for this scholarship, so give it a try seniors! Fill out the application using the QR code on screen.


Air Force Alumni Visit (2/28/24-3/4/24)

We will be hosting 2023 Hilo High graduate NIKOLAS GALDONES TODAY, March 4th during pd 4 in N-103. If you're interested in hearing about his experiences with the Air Force, or just want to catch up with Nik for a bit, sign up for his session and pick up a pass with Mrs. Frias in N-103.


Junior Prom Bid Pick Up (2/29/24-3/5/24)

Junior prom seat selection and bid pick up starts TODAY Monday, March 4th and ends Tuesday, March 5th in room A-2 during lunch recess only. Please bring your receipt or ID with you. If you are bringing a guest, you must select your guest's seat along with yours.

KVIKS Media General Meeting (3/4/24-3/5/24)

Attention KVIKS Media Members. The general meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 in C-215 at lunch. See you there!


May Day Informational Meeting (3/4/24-3/5/24)

Are you part of a duo or group that would like to showcase your talent through a cultural performance in this yearʻs May Day Hōʻike on May 17th? Please send a representative of your duo or group to come to an informational meeting during LUNCH in K101-Kumu ʻAwaʻs rm-on Tuesday-March 5th. Kumu ʻAwa will answer any questions and will be handing out the intent to participate form. Pls be on time and we will see you then! Aloha!


Administration of Justice Visit (3/4/24-3/5/24)

Aloha, Vikings! The Administration of Justice program and club at Hawaii Community College will be visiting Hilo High on Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00am during pd 4. If you are interested in learning more about the Administration of Justice major, and what types of careers it could prepare you for, see Mrs. Frias or Ms. Lawrence in N-103 for a pass. We hope to see you there!


Debate Districts for Hawai’i Island (3/4/24-3/6/24)

Last Wednesday, February 28th, 6 Hilo High teams competed in the Debate Districts for Hawai'i Island. The students debated on the following resolution: “Resolved: The United States federal government should repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act." Congratulations to the teams of Isis Alvarez-Murillo and Keoni Roosevelt Randolph and Mayo Nakajima and Senaka Reddy, who qualified for the State Tournament on Oahu on April 5th and 6th. They will be debating teams from all over the islands on the resolution: "Resolved: The United Nations should abolish permanent membership on its Security Council.


Young at Art Exhibition (3/4/2024 - 3/5/2024)

13 students were accepted into the East Hawai'i Cultural Center Young at Art Show this year! A big congratulations to the following students: Violet Ware, Lia Kuo, Molly Schneider, Tayla Haa, Sadee Lemmon, Marissa Dodo, Tayani Abadilla, Ava Yamanaka, Shane Burns, Kelilah Jardine, Kanoelani Lyman, Aila Rosehill, & Kalena Kaneshiro-Kalamau. 


Student work will be displayed across the island in various locations. Location details can be found on Young at Art website. https://ehcc.org/yaa2024 . 


The show runs from March 2nd-29th. EHCC is also hosting a "Youth Arts Square" event downtown at the museum square on Saturday, March 9th from 10am- 2pm. There will be keiki art activities, giveaways, discounts, & more.
