Senior Prom

Hey seniors.... Prom Bid pick up and choosing of tables is this week.

Please come to the office, in front of Mrs. Pana's room to choose your table and pick up your bid.

Come during lunch recess on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Senior Luau

Aloha Seniors!

Ready for some ʻono Hawaiian food?

This year's Senior Luau will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 from 5-8pm here at Hilo High. Tickets are $20. Ticket sales for Senior Luau will be held from March 4th through March 6th in front of the office during lunch period .

Come and enjoy some delicious Hawaiian food. Hope to see you there!


Senior Week

Attention seniors! Senior week is coming up it’s from Monday, March 4 till Friday, March 8. Kick off sporty senior Monday representing Your favorite sport or sports team. Get groovy for disco fever Tuesday and wear your favorite disco dance gear. Next round up your cowboy hats and boots for a wild west Wednesday and dress in your favorite rodeo get-up. ______what is your favorite childhood tv show!

Mine was _______. Throw it back to battle of the networks Thursday dressed as your favorite childhood TV character. Finally take a rest for first class Friday! Come to school dressed in your coziest clothes or PJs and fly away with us to prom on Saturday, March 9! We’ll see you there!

Big Island Press Club Scholarship - $500-$1,500 - Deadline April 1


Hilo High School PTSA Essay Scholarship - $400 - Deadline April 8

Congratulations Japan Wizards Teams!


Congratulations to this year's Hilo High Japan Wizards Academic Team members on winning second place for the video competition among 40 other teams at Japan Wizards Statewide Academic Competition held on Oahu this past weekend.


This year's theme was Environmental Issues in Japan - What do you and the world have to gain from Japan's countermeasures for dealing with environmental issues?


This year's team members were:

Team A: Lauren Spencer, Wyatt Lorenzo, and Janelle Cabral,

Team B: Anna Hall, Nami Mommesen Akiyama, and Keona Matsui


Team A video was awarded as the second most "Educational Video" with $50 and Team B was awarded as the second "Best Produced Video" with $50.


Once again, Congratulations to both teams!



Miss Hawaii American Teen Scholarship Pageant

Hey, Lady Vikings!  Have you ever thought about participating in a pageant?  The Miss Hawaii American Teen Scholarship Pageant is currently looking for local contestants.  No previous pageant experience is necessary, and all participants go home with gifts and prizes, even if they do not win.  For more information, see the attached flyer, or see Mrs. Frias in A-1.



KUPU Spring Break Camp applications due Mar 1st

Hey, Vikings! Are you interested in participating in KUPU's Spring Break Kokua Camp on Oahu this year? Applications are online and due by March 1st. Camp cost is $200, but partial scholarships are available. Please see Mrs. Frias in A-1 for application information.



Next NHS Meeting - March 5th

Good morning, National Honor Society Members. Our next general meeting is Tuesday, March 5th during morning recess at the Pool. This meeting is mandatory for all Class of 2020 members to attend. If you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Frias in A-1 before March 5th.
