2022 Summer Meals for Children 18 Years and Younger

Hilo High School is one of 83 public schools that will serve meals free of charge over the summer to children ages 18 years and younger, regardless of public school enrollment status, through its summer food service program.

Hilo Blood Drive (January 18, 19 & 20, 2022)

Blood Bank of Hawaii is visiting Hilo for a Blood Drive on January 18, 19, & 20, 2022. Volunteers are needed to donate blood. Students over age of 16, teachers, and staff are welcome to participate.

Incoming 9th Grade Class ZOOM Meeting

Mrs.Tillery, an HHS counselor, will be holding this meeting for incoming 9th-grade parents. During this meeting, we will go over registration guidelines and provide assistance for filling out the paperwork.

11/28 - Lā Kūʻokoʻa | Hawaiian Independence Day

The Hawaiian Kingdom became an independent Nation state on November 28th 1843, with the leadership of Mōʻī Kamehameha the third- Kauikeaouli.  With the help of Timoteo Haʻalilo, William Richards, and Sir George Simpson who travelled to France, Europe and the United States,  Hawaiʻi became one of the the first non-European Nations recognized as an independent state in the world. This day became known as Lā Kūʻokoʻa or Hawaiian Independence Day.

Unity day is a day to promote kindness, acceptance and aloha. We encourage everyone to wear Orange in support of Unity Day and earn 10 HERO points. Create a poster sign with a positive message and let’s wave it during Wednesday morning from 7:20 to 7:50 am to show our solidarity. Please come to Mrs. Masuhara’s room A-16 to get poster supplies. LIVE Q&A Stream with Administrators on August 2nd, 2021

Summer 2021 Seamless Meal Program

The seamless summer option meal program will begin on June 4 and run until July 19. Meal distribution will be at lunchtime only. All children ages 18 and younger may participate at the approximately 80 distribution sites, regardless of their enrollment status. Parents or guardians who choose to pick up meals without their child(ren) present must provide verification documents daily.

Drivers Ed Sign Ups

Please go to the HHS Website, hover over 'Activities/Clubs,' and select 'Driver Ed' in the drop down menu.
Fill out the Google form and upload a copy of your permit.

IMPORTANT: Help needed to qualify for free meal program

Hawaii public schools are offering a food program to provide free meals to all students at select campuses that meet specific qualification standards. The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) is participating in a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program to allow all students at those schools to receive free meal service. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) allows a school district, a group of schools or a single school with high concentrations of economically disadvantaged families to serve free meals to everyone even if they do not qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch reimbursement.

Free Meal Service

The Hawaii State Department of Education is participating in a program to allow students to receive free meal service. We need your help.

PTP Help for the Class of 2021

We will be having on-campus PTP helpers starting March 31, 2021 during school hours. You are welcome to attend every day until you are finished with your Personal Transition Plan. You may virtually attend all of your classes while you are in the Hub, and work on your PTP during your breaks, or during periods that you do not have classes.
