Class Office Elections

Hey Vikings! It's that time of year when we start elections again! Run for the class offices of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, or run for student association president, 1st vice president, 2nd vice president, corresponding secretary, or treasurer! If you are interested in any of these positions, SA will be hosting a Candidate Training Conference on March 26th from 1:30-3:30 p.m. It is mandatory for all candidates to attend, so save the date! And if this date and time doesn't work for you, see Mrs. Masuhara in A-16 to discuss an alternate date. Election packets will be passed out at the Candidate Training Conference. Please RSVP by visiting A16 and filling out the google form.  Thank you!




Senior Luau

Aloha Seniors!

Ready for some ʻono Hawaiian food?

This year's Senior Luau will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 from 5-8pm here at Hilo High. Tickets are $20. Ticket sales for Senior Luau will be held from March 4th through March 6th in front of the office during lunch period .

Come and enjoy some delicious Hawaiian food. Hope to see you there!




SAT/ACT Test Prep session for Juniors

Hey, Juniors!  Are you interested in taking a Practice SAT/ACT Test and getting some helpful test taking tips and strategies?  Some individuals from UH Manoa will be at Hilo High on Monday, March 11th from 2:00-3:30pm. See Mrs. Frias in A-1 right away if you are interested - 25 spots are available - first come, first served!    

Congratulations DECA State Placers

Congratulations to Josephine Mischon and Sydney Patterson for placing in the Sports and Entertainment Category at the State DECA Career and Technical Student Organization Conference. Josephine and Sydney outranked out of 43 teams and placed 2nd for the best overall team in the State of Hawaii. They will go on to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando Florida. Best of luck!

Cal Poly University Visitation

Cal Poly is a nationally ranked, four-year, comprehensive public university located in San Luis Obispo, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on California's Central Coast.  It is a distinctive learning community offering academically focused students a hands-on educational experience that prepares them for today's scientific and technical world.

 

Students please come to Room A-1 to sign up and receive your pass if interested in attending this presentation on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:30 am. during Pd. 4.




May Day Royal Court Practice Reminder

Attention all ELECTED May Day Royal Court Members.  This is a reminder that we have May Day rehearsals every Monday and Wednesday during lunch recess and after school from now till May Day.  Boys report to C107 and Girls report to K101. Pls be on time and plan your meals accordingly. Mahalo nui loa.




May Day Performers

If you or anyone you know are interested in performing in this year's May Day hō`ike on May 17th (in BOTH the afternoon and evening shows), please come to K101 to pick up an intent to participate form between March 1 (Friday) to March 8 (Fri). This form is due on Wednesday, March 13th. An official application will be given at a later date. If you have any questions, please stop by K101 or C107. Mahalo nui loa.






One-ton Chip Fundraiser

Aloha!  The Hilo High Hawaiian club is selling 15oz. bags of Maebo one-ton chips.  IF you would like to purchase a bag for $10, please see a hula club member asap before they disappear!  Mahalo nui for your support.

 

FOOTBALL SPRING WORKOUT INFORMATION/TEAM MEETING

Although not mandatory, it is highly recommended for those interested in participating in the fall football team, to attend a very important Spring Workout Information Team meeting on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM in the old gym, especially those students who need to attend spring sports practice. There will also be another meeting at 6PM - 8:30 PM in the old gym for students not participating in a spring sport.

 

Players should show up in athletic clothing and flat shoes. Also have the following Name, Age, Phone number, Position, Parent Name, email and phone number written on a sheet of paper.
