Good morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S Morning Bulletin. My name is Sonja and here are your announcements for Wednesday, April 10th, 2019.

 

Collecting Donations for Women's and Children's Shelter

Aloha Viking Ohana!  The Early College Human Services class is having a collection drive to benefit the Women and Children's Shelter in East Hawaii.  Please bring new or gently used items suitable for 1) women, 2) children and 3)household items during the week of April 8-12. Collection location will be in A-1 all week long.  Let’s show our Viking Spirit by donating what we can.


ELECTIONS

Hey Vikings! Those of you interested in running for office in either class council or student association, don’t forget that your election applications are due on May 10th to A-16! Applications were made available at the mandatory Candidate Training Conference. If you have any questions or concerns please see Mrs Masuhara or Steven Chung in A-16. Thank you!


Class of 2020 Service Project

Hey juniors, this month we are hosting a spring fling for the senior citizens at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home. It is on Sunday, April 14th from 1-3pm. If you are interested in attending please come to a12b at recess or lunch. Thank you.


JROTC Service Learning Project

Attention all JROTC Cadets, reminder our Service Learning Project with Hilo High Project Unified and Special Olympics Hawaii is this Saturday April 13th 8am to 2pm at Keaau High School.

We will have a final sync meeting on Friday April 12th, 12:45pm at the Hilo High Track area.


US Army - Military Service AND attending college

Hey, Vikings! Have you ever considered any Military Service after High School? But are unsure because you also might want to earn a college degree? You're in luck! Some members of the US Army will be at Hilo High on Thursday, April 11th during pd 3 to let you know that you can do BOTH things simultaneously! Come to A-1 to pick up a pass and sign up to attend their informational session.

George Fox University Visitation

STUDENTS - If you are interested in attending a recognized Christian University in Newberg, Oregon where every student will be known personally, academically and spiritually, then come on down to Room A-1 to sign up to attend George Fox University Presentation.


Kamehameha Scholars Program - Open to 9th and 10th graders

Hey 9th and 10th Graders! Are you planning to attend college after graduating from high school? Have you heard of the Kamehameha Scholars Program? Kamehameha Scholars is a support and assistance program using a holistic and Hawaiian culture-based approach, providing academic counseling, guidance, and mentoring year-round. All program completers will earn a valuable college tuition scholarship!

Applications are due on April 30, 2019.
