HERO Point Opportunity!
Do you want to earn more HERO points? You can earn FIVE! Yes, 5 HERO points for doing after-school HI 5 recycling here on campus! Go to Ms. Crowl's room to signup in advance to do an after-school recycling shift. ALL students can participate and you DON'T have to belong to any clubs! On-campus HI 5 recycling is a Global Action Project by the Hilo High Pacific and Asian Affairs Council.
Senior Hall of Fame survey
Aloha Seniors! It is time to select your class Hall Of Fame! Please fill out our google form and nominate your class favorites for all of our different categories. Election will be held February 3-7 so make sure you vote! Take a pic of our link and log into your viking email, then vote! Thank you Vikings.
Class of 2021 Lunchtime PTP Work Sessions
Hey, Juniors in the class of 2021! In addition to working on your PTP during STARS, we will be starting to hold Lunchtime PTP work sessions every Monday and Wednesday for the rest of this quarter in A-1. You do not need to sign up for a session - just borrow a chromebook from a nearby classroom and come in to work. There will be 7 lunch sessions between now and the end of the quarter, for the exact dates, please visit the Hilo High School website. Please remember that your PTP is due in May of this year. You can do this, Juniors! Be the first class that is actually done with the PTP before Senior year!
Boys and Girls Golf
The 2020 Boys and Girls Golf Team will be having tryouts starting February 10, 2020 at the Hilo Muni Golf Course. Meet at 3:00 PM.
You must have a current physical, golf equipment and green fees. Please call Coach Randy Pak at 934-0049 if you are are planning to tryout.
Boys and Girls Tennis
To all Boys & Girls planning to tryout for tennis, you can still sign up with coach Leanne in F-Bldg. Remember- physicals need to be done in order to tryout. Forms can be picked up at the front office if needed. Tryouts will be Feb. 10 -12. Boys start at 3pm and girls at 4pm at the Hilo Intermediate courts. Those currently in another sport that can't make the tryout dates, please let coach Leanne know. Thanks!
Boys Volleyball Voluntary Conditioning
Conditioning is at the HHS Gym on February 4, 5, 6, 2020 from 6:30 PM - 8PM
Official Boys Volleyball Tryouts (for those not participating in a winter sport)
February 10, 11, 12, 2020 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM @ HHS Gym
You must have a current physical and signed acknowledgement form to participate

New Scholarships:
Good morning, Class of 2020! There are several new scholarships available in A-1. Come by to check them out and apply!
Hawaii Saddle Club - several scholarships available to seniors from Hawaii Island with ranching or rodeo experience
KEM Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship open to Hilo High School Seniors planning to pursue a degree in Science beginning Fall 2020.
Mufi Hannemann Leadership Scholarship - open to students of Samoan ancestry with academic and leadership potential
The BBB Students of Integrity Scholarships - Open to Juniors and Seniors! $5,000 award for the winning video submission, and several $2,000 awards for winning essay submissions. More detailed application information can be found online.
