Distance Learning to Continue Through SY 20-21 Quarter 3

December 11, 2020

Dear Parents, Guardians, Families and Friends,

The second quarter/first semester is coming to a close and we would like to share an important update regarding our school schedule for the third quarter. High schools in our complex, Hilo High School along with Waiakea High School will be continuing with our distance learning program throughout Quarter 3. Our teachers will continue to provide lessons virtually and our Learning Hubs will continue to be open. We will continue to closely monitor COVID activity to ensure a safe and successful transition and communicate more details for the 4th Quarter.

I’m sure this announcement is a relief to some of our families and a disappointment to others. This decision reflects our dedication to the health and safety of our students, families, staff and community. Please understand that our entire school staff cannot wait for students to be back in school, as they are the heartbeat of Hilo!

We continuously appreciate your support as we navigate through these uncertain times. We know this hasn’t been easy and we all thank you very much for everything you are doing to help your child(ren) succeed. Please use this holiday season to rest, relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy your family time! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our counselors and or school administration at (808) 313-5500. Happy Holidays, take care and be safe!!!

Sincerely,

Jasmine Urasaki
Principal
