Jazz: Good morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S Morning Bulletin. My name is Jazz, and today’s date is Wednesday, August 4th, 2021, day 2 of Freshmen and Sophomore Orientation. The periods are STARS-2-4-6. Here are your announcements.
[Nazz] Hi, my name is Nazz. We hope you enjoyed your first day of school orientation. Today, orientation continues for you freshmen and sophomores. Here is what is on the agenda today.
[Nazz] In STARS, we will learn more about the history of Hilo High School by taking a tour around the campus. Each section has a special presenter to talk more about that building. We will also see the differences of a Healthy and Unhealthy Relationship.
[Dylan] Hi, my name is Dylan. During Period 2, you will watch a video on chapter 19 and discuss it with your class.
[Dylan] During period 4, we will be focusing on dress standard rules through a video and a worksheet.
[Nazz] During lunchtime today, we have a special spirit rally just for you all in front of the auditorium! Be sure to come down and participate in our special event.
[Nazz] Finally, during period 6, students share what it means to be a Viking. Dismissal today is at 1:10 PM.
[Dylan] Tomorrow, you will be joined by the juniors and seniors. On the website, there is a list of frequently asked questions. Here is a highlight of them read by our Hilo High Communications Department.

If a student would like to make changes in their class schedule, what steps should they take?
A: Contact your counselor, send them an email or give them a call.
Where’s the school supplies list?
A: The school supply list will be distributed by each teacher in their respective classes.

Will students have to disclose if they have traveled to the mainland...or off-island?
A: We are currently following the state guidelines, if you’ve been fully vaccinated and uploaded the necessary information on the safe travels app then you don’t have to quarantine. If you did not get vaccinated you will need to follow the state procedures and guidelines. If you have to quarantine then you will have to notify the school that you will be absent due to quarantining so we can let the necessary staff and teachers know.
