ANCHOR1: Back to School Supply Drive
Do you have extra school supplies and would like to share them with some of your classmates? Student Association is having a basic school supply drive and some of the things we are looking for include composition notebooks, binder paper, graph paper, foders, pens (different color inks), colored pencils, and anything else you want to share. We will also include your name on the list to earn HERO points. Bring your school supply donations to room A-16 for the Hilo High School “Back to School Supply Drive!” Donations will be collected till August 19, 2021 before school. Come and help your fellow Vikings.
ANCHOR1: Hilo High Student Credit Union
Would you want to be able to do your banking at school? Deposit your money? Withdraw some money? Purchase discounted movie tickets? Come and check out your Student Credit Union located in the Learning Resource Center. On Wednesday August 18 during recess and lunch we will have a member recruitment drive. Come to learn about the credit union, win some prizes (you must have your ID), and ask questions. If you decide to open an account, you can pick up an application form any day during lunch. Become a member and save money for things like prom, college, and a special gift to yourself.
ANCHOR1: Hilo Highʻs LGBTQ+ Gay Straight Alliance Club will hold its next meeting today in R-21, Ms. Crowlʻs room, during lunch recess.

ANCHOR2: Welcome back Vikings! Are you ready to smile for the camera? We will be taking your -portraits for the yearbook through your English class this year, on Tuesday August 24th and Wednesday August 25th. Bring your smile and be in appropriate dress standard to take your picture in the LRC. You can fill out a paper order form or order online through Reed Takaaze Photography Studio. Thank you!
ANCHOR2: Interested in science and math and competing against teams all over the state? Then the first meeting for Hilo High's Science Quiz Bowl team will be on Thursday August 19th at lunch recess in C-206, stop by if you are interested.
ANCHOR2: Speech and Debate Club. For those wanting to join the Speech and Debate club, our first meeting is during lunch this Wed, Aug 18 in Mrs. Laliberte's room, BB301. Now, back to you Joseph.
