Dear Families:
Hilo High School is offering voluntary free weekly COVID-19 testing to help keep our students, staff and
community safe. Regular COVID-19 testing will help prevent the spread of the virus by finding positive
cases quickly and identifying positive cases in people who do not show any symptoms. Testing will also help
us have regular, in-person learning while making everyone feel safer.
What is the COVID-19 testing program?
● Participating students will be tested for COVID-19 twice a week using an Antigen test.
● The test is performed at our school on Tuesday & Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 at N-102 (by the pool) .
● The COVID-19 test is quick, easy and it does not hurt. Students will gently self-swab their lower inner
● Parents that registered online will receive their student’s test results shortly thereafter. If parents are
unable to register online, a hard copy of the test results will be sent home with their student.
● The test is free. You do not need to pay for the test or have insurance to get the test.
● This program is optional, but we hope you will participate to help us stop the spread of COVID-19.

● If you are unable to sign up electronically, please complete the enclosed form.
● Student information will only be shared with the Hawaii State Department of Health and necessary
departments if a student tests positive in an individual test.
The program is voluntary. Students are not required to participate in the program. We strongly
encourage your student to participate to help us reduce the spread of COVID-19.

the Color COVID testing we offered earlier in the year you will still need to re-register.
