College of Hawaiian Language
Ka Haka 'Ula O Ke'elikōlani is the University of Hawaiʻi's College of Hawaiian Language. They specialize not only in language acquisition and linguistics but also traditional culture practices and history, and "education in a Hawaiian medium environment." Professors and staff from Ka Haka 'Ula will be coming to do a speaker session in the library, Monday, February 28, 2022 during 6th period. Students will be able to learn about what kind of opportunities and knowledge are available to them through the college. Kahoot Tournament
Greetings Vikings! Do you want to test your skills in a qualifier style at a Kahoot tournament ? We’ll be having a Kahoot Tournament taking place every Friday during lunch over the next three weeks at the LRC. This kahoot tournament will be limited to 30 participants and it's a first come first serve basis. Participants will be given a treat for joining in. The top three to five winners of each week will return for a third week to find out who the top winner is and will be receiving the grand treat. Each week will have three topics to research, shown at the start of the week. So join us at the LRC to test your knowledge and let's have fun!
ACT Testing
Attention Juniors!
Here is your friendly reminder for the ACT on Thursday, March 3rd. The ACT can give you a measure of your academic strengths and can be used for college entrance. This test is a requirement for all juniors. If you are unsure if you are an enrolled 11th grader you can check your grade level on Infinite Campus.
Testing will be administered in the new gym and you will be checking in at 7:45AM and released at 2:15. Account setup and school lunch orders are currently being done through your English classes. Remember to bring an approved calculator, snacks and leave your personal electronic devices at home. There are a total of 5 tests with 15-minute breaks between each test. Lunch will be after the last test.
Stay home if you are not feeling well and a mask must be worn at all times.
Remember, please report to the new gym lobby at 7:45 on Thursday, March 3rd for the ACT. Take care and be safe and good luck on your ACT!
Freshman Day
Hey everyone...it's FRESHMAN DAY this Friday, February 25. So dress in white and gold, even if you're not a freshman, and earn 10 hero points. Come in front of the auditorium during lunch recess on Friday to get your points. We'll also have a few games and prizes.

Spring Sports Tryouts
Track and Field
All athletes interested in participating in Track and Field, there is a meeting TODAY at 3:30 PM at the Track for Sign Ups and Conditioning.
Boys Volleyball Tryouts are continuing today, Wednesday: February 23, from 4 - 6 pm and Thursday: February 24, from 4 - 6 PM. See Mr. Fernandez in room C-108 for more information.
Boys and Girls Judo - If you are interested in joining the Judo Team, stop by the Practice Room upstairs at the New Gym between 4 - 5:30 PM on Monday, Wednesdays or Fridays.
Tennis Tryouts - Tryouts will be held next week at the Hilo Intermediate Tennis Courts. Boys Tennis Tryouts will be on February 21st and 23rd from 3:30 - 6 PM. Girls Tryouts will be from February 21st through 23rd from 4 - 6 PM.
All those interested in participating in any Spring Sport will need to have an updated Physical filed with the Athletic Trainer, be fully vaccinated, or have an approved religious or medical exemption. If you have any questions, please contact the coach of the team or the Athletic Director.
