Aloha Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin, I’m Clara, and here are your announcements for today, Wednesday, March 30th, 2022. The periods today are 2-4 and 6.


Host: Seniors! Are you ready for your “Last Dance” together? Here is what you need to know for Senior Prom!


[VIDEO] Senior Prom Packet Pickup

(Chloe) Seniors, prom is near! The Last Dance will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 in Hilo Highs New Gym. Packet pickup and payment will be held from March 29th through April 1st. You can pick up a packet from Mrs. Araki’s in C-209 during lunch recess starting today. Only Hilo High students will be allowed. Please make sure that you have paid your class dues and have no prior obligations. While dropping off payment your ID, vax card or negative covid test within 48 hours is required. Bid and seat selection will take place the following week, April 4th to the 8th. Thank you and we hope to see you there!

Host: Temporary Senior Song Practice Locations

On Monday, April 4th, all Seniors will report to the following locations for Senior Song Practice at the start of first recess. Senior Girls will report to the Auditorium and Senior Boys to the Pool.


Host: Leo Club Meeting

Attention all Leo Club Members! Your next meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, March 31st, 2022. Attendance is mandatory. They will be going over plenty of upcoming events. Thank you!

Hey Viks! Do you want to help our local foster kids? Well this is your time! You can donate any new or gently used school supplies, new hygiene products and or new stuffed animals and toys on March 29th - 30th to Mrs. Blair's room, A-02B at lunch. You could change a kid's life! Thank you.


Interviewer: What is the purpose of this event?

Interviewee: Explain the purpose like a human. For the foster kids… Make life good!


Interviewer: How does one get involved in this event?

Interviewee: Make sure they explain what to donate, where to donate it, (Mrs. Blair’s Room A02-B) and when the project is (March 29th &30th).



This week in viking athletics:

Wednesday March 30th, Softball at Keaau 3pm, Boys volleyball vs. Kona at 5pm and Golf at Waikoloa Village at 10 am. On Friday April 1st, Tennis at Waiakea 2pm. Saturday April 2nd,  track at HPA 9am, baseball vs keaau 10am, Judo at Hilo High 1030am, tennis vs kealakehe at 2 pm, and waterpolo at KSH 230 pm.

[VIDEO] Why Get Involved With Student Leadership?

Pick up a student leadership application packet at room A-16 during lunch from March 21 to Apr 1, 2022. The deadline for all applications is April 1st. Share your voice, lead, inspire and make a difference Vikings!


Host: Student Office is an excellent opportunity to practice leadership. Make sure to sign up if you’re interested.


[VIDEO] St. Martins University

Hey Vikings! St. Martin's University, located in Lacey, Washington, will be visiting Hilo High School. To see their presentation on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 8:30 am during Pd. 2, come to the LRC during recess or lunch to sign up. Hope to see you there!


St. Martins University is a private liberal arts university located in Lacey, Washington near the stateʻs capital city of Olympia. This Roman Catholic university has a wide range of opportunities and programs ranging from liberal arts majors to engineering programs as well as a Division II athletics. Those interested in a university with a small, tight-knit campus community, affordable tuition, and a diverse student body, pick up a pass in the LRC to see their presentation come Wednesday April 20th, 2022 during Period 2. We hope to see you at the presentation.

[VIDEO] Old Navy ON-Ward Field Trip

 Ms. Taniguchi and Mrs. Frias are inviting 12 students to participate in this semester's session of Old Navy ON-Ward Field Trip on April 9th and 10th.  Participants must be available for both days.  Please see Mrs. Frias in the LRC to pick up a field trip form and for more information.  Remember that only 12 students can participate in this opportunity, so see Mrs. Frias ASAP if you’re interested. 


[VIDEO] HCC Early Childhood Education

Are you interested in learning more about Early Childhood Education?  Hawaii Community College's Early Childhood Education department will be at Hilo High on Friday, April 1st during pd 4 at 10:45am.  Please come to the LRC to sign up for the session and pick up a pass.  We hope to see you there!
