Aloha Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin, I’m Ahriel, and here are your announcements for today, Thursday, April 7th, 2022. The periods today are 1-3-5 and 7.


Host: If you are planning on joining the military after high school, the ASVAB test will help you decide whether you are a good fit to join the service, and also which service branch you might be best for and what jobs you can hold after you finish basic training or bootcamp. The ASVAB will be held at Hilo High School soon. Here is how you can reserve your spot.


[VIDEO] ASVAB Testing

All 10th-12th graders, the last ASVAB administration is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13th in the LRC and will start promptly at 8:10AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB.  Email Mr. Nakasato at [email protected] to reserve your spot.  Space is limited. The LRC will be closed all morning on April 13th to accommodate the ASVAB.  


Host: LEO Club

Attention LEOS!  Reminder to meet in front of Ms. T's office for today's project.  Ms. T will have refreshments for after the project!  See you there.

Also, don't forget to check Google Classroom for this April's projects.   Your poster is due by tomorrow! Thank you!


Host: When you get your permit, you learned the basic rules of the road. At Drivers Ed, you will be able to learn more from the classroom and on the road!


[VIDEO] What is Driver Education?

Any student wanting to take a Driver Education class, please go to the HHS website, hover over 'Activities/Clubs', and select 'Driver Ed' in the drop down menu.  Fill out the Google form and upload your permit.  There are openings for class in the summer.


Host: 2021 Yearbook Reminder

Attention Vikings, Did you buy a 2021 yearbook and not pick it up? Well this Friday at lunch, go by Mrs. Mant's L-5 classroom and pick it up! Email Mrs. Mant if you have any questions.


Host: Aloha Friday Rally

Join us Friday in the front of the auditorium for aloha Friday featuring performances and music. Wear any cultural attire to earn 10 HERO Points and get a small treat while supplies last!

Hey Viks! We have new Hilo High School Vikings merchandise available for purchase! Scan the QR code to fill out an order form and arrange for pick up at Hilo High School! Or come and visit our Viking store located at room A-14 open every Wednesday afterschool. 

These new merchs will definitely give you comfort and a way to show your Viking spirit!

[VIDEO] St. Martins University 

Hey Vikings! St. Martin's University, located in Lacey, Washington, will be visiting Hilo High School. To see their presentation on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 8:30 am during Pd. 2, come to the LRC during recess or lunch to sign up. Hope to see you there!


Those interested in a university with a small, tight-knit campus community, we have roughly 1300 students enrolled. We also have an affordable tuition, at roughly $40,000 yearly. Also, a diverse student body with 19 different nationalities represented. Pick up a pass in the LRC to see their presentation come Wednesday April 20th, 2022 during Period 2 if you are interested.. We hope to see you at the presentation.



[VIDEO] Old Navy ON-Ward Field Trip

 Ms. Taniguchi and Mrs. Frias are inviting 12 students to participate in this semester's session of Old Navy ON-Ward Field Trip on April 9th and 10th.  Participants must be available for both days.  Please see Mrs. Frias in the LRC to pick up a field trip form and for more information.  Remember that only 12 students can participate in this opportunity, so see Mrs. Frias ASAP if you’re interested.
