This year, our theme is Kū I Ka Māna-to be like that of the ones who raised us. When we are born, we acquire traits that are passed on to us through our DNA. We also acquire traits and behaviors from those that raise us. Whether it is a person like our family or a place like that of our surroundings. Everything makes us who we are.
We honor all of those people and places who have shaped us and make us who we are in this yearʻs May Day hō`ike through different performances of song and dance. E Kū i ka māna!
