Leo Club

If you are interested in joining Leo Club the meeting is today, August 11 during lunch in room A-23. Don’t forget to join the google classroom, the code is aex7veg. This is an amazing opportunity to create new friendships, develop your leadership skills, and give back to the community.

 

Class of 2023

The 2023 Class Council meeting is going to be held today at lunch in Ms. Switzer’s room at R-24. If you’re interested in planning our senior year, don’t forget to come and share your suggestions!

 

Class of 2026

Hey Class of 2026, don’t forget to turn in your form by today, August 11th by 3 pm in room A-16 to enter the election!

 

Please don’t forget to pick up your receipt.

 

Receipt

 Hey Vikings! If you haven’t picked up your receipt and BIIF card from the fee collection, it is now ready for pick in the patio during recess and lunch this week. Please bring your ID and go pick it up. You can use your BIIF card to get in free at our pre-season football game this Saturday at Wong Stadium. The kick off is at 6 PM.

 

The East Hawaii Cultural Center is offering a FREE after school program. We now go to Caleb for more information. 

 

ART Forward

Greetings Vikings! The East Hawaii Cultural Center is offering a FREE after school program called ART Forward to any interested high school students.  Through this program you will create artwork for their upcoming haunted house, make masks and props to be used in Palace Theater productions, and meet creative professionals from the Big Island community! Thank you!

 

Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-6:00pm at the East Hawaii Cultural Center's Ceramics Studio.

 

If you are interested, please see Mrs. Frias for an application in N-103.  Applications are due by August 18th, so pick one up soon!

 

Are you interested in girls basketball? Here is more information about the conditioning.

 

Girls Basketball

What’s up vikings! The Girls basketball conditioning is going to be held every Monday & Wednesday at the weight room from 6 - 8 pm and on Tuesday & Thursday at the new gym from 6 - 8 pm. Please come, and join us if you’re interested, be sure to have a sports physical complete before participation. Hope to see you there!

ART Club

The Art Club will have its first meeting during lunch on Monday, August 22 in room L-4. New members are welcome! If you are interested in joining Art Club please report to L1 Ms. Z's room on Monday, August 15th during Lunch recess for our first meeting of the school year. See you there!

 

If you are interested in joining Art Club, please report to L-1 Ms. Zaneto’s room, on Monday, during lunch recess. 

 

Reminder to all students:

 

Due to different release times and supervision concerns between Hilo High School and Hilo Intermediate School, Hilo High students are not allowed to be on Hilo Intermediate School's campus at any time before, during, or after school, unless explicitly allowed by their administration. Hilo Intermediate students should also not be on the Hilo High School campus before, during, or after school.

 

Parents/Guardians who are doing student pickup after school are asked to arrive on campus 5-10 minutes after student release times, to allow buses to leave and reduce congestion in our parking lot.

 

Again, as a reminder, Hilo High School students are not allowed to be on the Hilo Intermediate School campus at any time before, during, or after school.

Ohayo gozaimasu. Are you interested in Taiko drumming? The Taiko Club Tryouts will be held on Friday August 12th, Tuesday the 16th, and Tuesdays the 23th, from 2:30 to 3:30pm in B46. You can come one or more of the days to experience taiko drumming and see if you would be interested in joining the club.  Please come in comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. If you have any questions, please ask Shehata Sensei. Jaa-ne! 

 

Are you a current senior and haven’t submitted your senior photos? The deadline for all senior photos is on September 1st. Be sure to schedule your appointment with Reed Takaaze by September 1st, 2022, and for questions, email Mrs. Mant at [email protected].

 

Were you a ceramics student last year? Don’t forget to pick up your work.

Make sure to see me in the ceramics room, C-101 during recess, lunch recess, or after school this month; August, to pick up or complete your art from last year. I have saved all of your work so that you can finish and take it home. Don’t forget your masterpieces.
