Aloha Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin. I’m Pia and here are your announcements for Friday, August 26, 2022. The periods today are 2-4-6.
Main Office - BUS
This is the last week for students to ride school buses without a pass. Starting Monday, August 29th, if you do not have a bus pass, you will not be allowed to ride. Please make sure to turn in your applications and/or payment to the main office by the end of this week.
ASVAB Testing
All 10th-12th graders, the next ASVAB administration is on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022.
The test will be administered in the Learning Resource Center and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot.
Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session have been reduced to 30. The LRC will be closed all morning on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 to accommodate the test and reopen during lunch.
Art Club
Art Club will be meeting today, Friday, August 26th after school from 1:30-2:30 in room L-4. Don't forget to follow @hilohighartclub on Instagram for future club updates.

[SPOT] Promoting Football game and concessions
What’s up vikings! Our football team is going against the Keaau cougars this Saturday, August 27th! Kick off is at 6. For concession, there will be a Kalua and cabbage bowl for $6.00, a Gravy hamburger rice and corn bowl for $6.00, a Gravy burger for $3.00, a Hot dog for $2.00, Pizza per slice for $3.00, and chips or rice krispies for $1.00, Water and soda will be $1.00, and Arizona tea will be $3.00. Please come support our viking ohana this saturday at Francis Wong Stadium. Make sure to bring cash for some delicious food and your BIIF card! See you there!

Located south of Portland in the small town of Monmouth Oregon, Western Oregon University is known for its beautiful environment and cozy, antique feel. [SPOT] Boys and Girls Tennis
To all boys and girls interested in playing tennis this school year, there is off-season hitting and conditioning starting up. Boys are Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 3 - 6pm. Girls are Tuesday 4:30 - 6pm, Wednesday & Friday 4:00- 6:00pm. Students need to have a current physical & copy of Covid vaccine card or 2 negative tests a week to participate. For any questions, need a physical form, or need to turn in physicals, please see Coach Leanne in F-Bldg. Thanks!

Senior Class/Commencement/Counseling
Attention Seniors! Please inform your parents/guardians that Senior Parent Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 1st @ 5:30pm in the Hilo High School Cafeteria. Important information about your Senior Class events for the year, College and Career planning, and Commencement will all be shared at this meeting. Attendance will be taken, and if it is possible depending on health and safety guidelines closer to May 2023, we may be able to give every graduate's family an extra commencement ticket for attending this meeting! Be sure to share this information with your families, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Table Top Club
The TableTop Club will be holding the first Clash Royale tournament for students. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded. If you want to find out if you are the best, the very best like no one ever was, sign up in B-41, Mr. Yamanaka's room when you get a chance.
Ceramics Announcement
Greetings Vikings! Were you in ceramics last year? Make sure to see Ms. Krauss in the ceramics room, C-101 during recess, lunch recess, or after school this month; August, to pick up or complete your art from last year. She has saved all of your work so that you can finish and take it home. Don’t forget your masterpieces.

Girls Basketball Conditioning
Girls basketball conditioning is held every Monday & Wednesday at the weight room 6:00- 8:00 pm and Tuesday & Thursday at the new gym 6:00 - 8:00 pm please come and join us if you are interested, be sure to have a sports physical complete before participation.
