Senior Parent Night
Seniors, please don’t forget that Senior Parent Night is on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at 5:30pm in the Hilo High School cafeteria. Attendance will be taken, and if it is possible depending on health and safety guidelines closer to May 2023, we may be able to give every graduate’s family an extra commencement ticket for attending this meeting! Be sure to share this information with your families, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Senior Quotes and Photos
The deadline for senior portraits and senior quotes is on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Please submit your photos or schedule a studio appointment with Reed Takaaze by September 1, 2022. Details can be on our website and instagram posts. Still have questions? Email Mrs. Mant at [email protected]
ASVAB Testing
All 10th-12th graders, the next ASVAB administration is on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022.
The test will be administered in the Learning Resource Center and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot.
Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session have been reduced to 30. The LRC will be closed all morning on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 to accommodate the test and reopen during lunch.

Our talented Viking athletes are ready for another week of exciting competitions! We have our girl’s volleyball team going against Kanu O Ka 'aina Charter School on Wednesday, August 31st in our Hilo High School Gym. This event will be broadcasted by KVIKS Media starting at 5 pm and can be seen by going to hilohigh.org/livesports! Our viking football team will be competing against Konawaena High School on Friday, September 2nd at Francis Wong Stadium. This exciting game will be broadcasted by Naleo TV starting at 5 pm. Remember to show some love and support for our talented Viking athletes, and, if you can, consider coming to watch these fun sporting events live- just remember to bring your BIIF Card! Goooo Vikings!
[SPOT] Boys and Girls Tennis
To all boys and girls interested in playing tennis this school year, there is off-season hitting and conditioning starting up. Boys are Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 3 - 6pm. Girls are Tuesday 4:30 - 6pm, Wednesday & Friday 4:00- 6:00pm. Students need to have a current physical & copy of Covid vaccine card or 2 negative tests a week to participate. For any questions, need a physical form, or need to turn in physicals, please see Coach Leanne in F-Bldg. Thanks!

Located south of Portland in the small town of Monmouth Oregon, Western Oregon University is known for its beautiful environment and cozy, antique feel. This quiet, close knit collegecan be a great place to study if you thrive in smaller class sizes or towns! If you’re interested in hearing more about this great university with a wide variety of majors to choose from, then don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Western Oregon on Monday, August 29th, 2022! Greetings Vikings! Were you in ceramics last year? Make sure to see Ms. Krauss in the ceramics room, C-101 during recess, lunch recess, or after school this month; August, to pick up or complete your art from last year. She has saved all of your work so that you can finish and take it home. Don’t forget your masterpieces.

Girls Basketball Conditioning
Girls basketball conditioning is held every Monday & Wednesday at the weight room 6:00- 8:00 pm and Tuesday & Thursday at the new gym 6:00 - 8:00 pm please come and join us if you are interested, be sure to have a sports physical before participation.
