Worlds Mental Health Day
Hey Vikings! Today, we celebrate World’s Mental Health Day! This year’s theme is “Make mental health & well-being for all a global priority” The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Mental Health is an important part of ourselves and we want to make sure that you are well taken care of. World Mental Health Day is a way for us to learn more, seek help, offer support and open our hearts and minds to vulnerable conversations.
In celebration of World’s Mental Health Day, this week we will be showcasing positive mental health messages. And remember that our school offers mental health resources.
Today’s positive message is, it is ok not to be ok.
Boys and Girls Golf
The Hilo High School boys and girls golf team is having sign ups for 2022-2023 season. All returnees and interested golfers can sign up by calling Randy Pak @ 808-934-0049. Sign ups will run from today, October 10 to Friday October 14. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Pak.
This week in College and Career Visitations.
Tomorrow, October 11, 2022 the Big Island Beauty Academy will be visiting during period 3.
Then on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 we have two visitations.
Starting off with Oregon State University, they will be visiting during period 2, and Pacific University will be visiting during period 6.
Lastly, we have the US Navy, and they will be presenting general information on Thursday, October 13, 2022, during period 1.
If you are interested in any of these sessions, please see Mrs. Frias in N-103 to sign up and get a pass.
College Fair
We've been invited to bring 80 students to a College Fair on Friday, October 21st. If you are interested in attending, come to N-103 to sign up and pick up a field trip form. Forms need to be signed by your parent or guardian, and you need signed permission from your period 3 and 5 teachers. Return your signed forms back to N-103 and the first 80 students will be able to attend. Please see Mrs. Frias for a list of colleges that will be there, and for any questions you might have. If you are interested in learning more about different colleges out there, we hope you will join us!
KVIKS Media General Meeting
Attention all KVIKS Media members, we will be having a general meeting this Thursday during lunch in C-215. We will be swearing our new officers into office. If you have other meetings to attend, please let Mr. Luke know. If you would like to pre-order a lunch, please add your name to the spreadsheet in Google Classroom. Lunch orders will be taken until Tuesday afternoon.

After viewing the video, please email coach George with your full name, and parents' email to sign up. All students' interested must sign up with coach George by October 14, 2022 to try out and or participate this season.
