Environmental Agents o  ==  f Change

Aloha Environmental Agents of Change Members!

We have a General Meeting TODAY, November 3rd during lunch recess in C-217 (Ms. R’s room). We will be going over upcoming fundraisers and events, and voting for our club t-shirt! Also, if you would like to pre-order a lunch, please add your name to the Google Classroom announcement. Thank you and see you there!


Class of 72' Alumni Guest Speaker

Attention Vikings! Accomplished business owner and alumni Duanu Kurisu coming on Thursday, November 10th during period 3 to tell his inspiring personal story and encourage students to strive for success. 


If your teacher is not planning to take your class, you may pick up a pass on a first come-first serve basis in room A-16. 


Pride Empowerment Club

Hey Vikings! The Pride Empowerment Club will be having an awesome RAINBOW CUPCAKE Sale TOMORROW, November 4 after school on the patio. Each cupcake cost $2. Treat yourself and all those special sweet someones in your life! 


Girls Basketball Tryouts

Hey Vikings! Are you interested in playing for our Girls Basketball team? There is a Girls Basketball tryout TODAY, November 3, at the New Gym starting at 6:00 PM. Be sure you have your Physical Form completed and turned in to the athletic trainers. See you on the court! If you have any questions please call AD K. Drummondo at 808-313-5600. All forms can be downloaded on the athletics page of our website.

Christmas Corners 

Guess what time of the year it is? 

Christmas!! Hilo High will be bringing back our family holiday night on Monday, December 5, 2022! The theme this year is “together for the holidays” and we’ll be having crafts, hot cocoa, entertainment, and our school wide Christmas corners! Christmas corners are where groups of students decorate their hangout spot for the Christmas spirits all over campus! If you and your group of friends are interested in decorating a corner for this event, please come to Mr Yamamoto's room, R13 this Friday at     lunch for an informational meeting. Thank you! 


Viking Band

The Hilo High School Viking band is having a fundraiser every Wednesday in the month of November. Kozmic Kones will donate $1 to the Viking band for every Chicken Katsu Plate bought. Come to Kozmic Kones every Wednesday to support the Viking Band!


Hilo High Swim Team

If you are interested in swimming for the Hilo High School Swim Team Tryouts will be held TOMORROW, November 4, 2022. Also, there will be swim practice from 3 to 5 PM at the pool every Monday to Friday. No club swim experience required.

Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

Hey creative Vikings! Are you interested in award and scholarship opportunities? The Scholastic Art & Writing awards are open for submissions. The deadline to submit is December 15th, 2022.  Go to artandwriting.org for submission guidelines or see Ms. Z in room L-4 for assistance. 


ASVAB Testing

All 10th-12th graders, the next ASVAB administration is on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022. The test will be administered in the Learning Resource Center and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session has been reduced to 30.

The LRC will be closed all morning on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 to accommodate the test and reopen during lunch.
