PRE-ROLL: Hawaiian Independence Day

Aloha kākou! ʻO wau ʻo Makamae. a ʻO wau o Pulele.

Last week, we gave you some historical facts about the declaration of independence for the Hawaiian Kingdom.

This week, the Hawaiian Club students will be asking a daily trivia question about some of the information that was given.

If you think you know the answer, you can submit your answer in 2 ways.

The first way to enter is to go to the QR code and submit your answer on a Google form

OR go to K101 to submit a written response directly to Kumu ʻAwa by the end of lunch recess each day to win.

The names with the correct answers on that day will be combined, and 2 names will be chosen randomly to win a bento at Mondayʻs Lā Kūʻkoʻa rally.  So, get it in quickly.

So, without further delay, here is a member of our Hawaiian Club with the trivia question of the day.

Malama Pono!

Aloha kākou!  ʻO wau ʻo Laʻiku a eia ka nīnau o ka lā, or question of the day.

Do you know the name of this person?  He was a royal secretary and first diplomat of the Hawaiian government.  He was known as one of the envoys who were sent by King Kamehameha III to help Hawaiʻi gain its recognition of an independent sovereign nation.   Who was this aloha ʻāina?

If you think you got the answer to todayʻs nīnau, submit your answer in 2 ways. One, go to the QR code to submit your answer OR go to K101 to submit a written response directly to Kumu ʻAwa by the end of lunch recess TODAY.

The names with the correct answers will be combined and 2 names will be chosen randomly to win a bento at Mondayʻs Lā Kūʻkoʻa rally.  So, get it in quickly!
