The USDA and University of Hawai’i at Mānoa (UH) Hawai’i AgDiscovery Program will be held July 9-22, 2023, on O’ahu Island. High school students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will have the opportunity to participate in this free, engaging program with hands-on curriculum in agribusiness, plant, and animal science. Students will learn from UH and USDA professionals in the field by interactively exploring careers in agriculture while gaining a taste of college life living at UH Mānoa dorms. Interested students in grades 9, 10, and 11 should apply online at www.aphis.usda.gov/agdiscovery well before the application deadline, Friday, March 31, midnight Eastern Time.
While they would like to take all applicants, applications will be reviewed, and top applicants will be selected for participation. Please take advantage of the Application TIPS document attached to this post, it provides guidance and a checklist for completing the application.
Additionally, Kristin Matsumoto of the University of Hawai’i will be offering a virtual Application Workshop on Saturday, March 4 at 2pm Hawai’i Standard Time. This is a great opportunity to learn how to complete an application and write an application essay! To sign up contact Kristin Matsumoto at [email protected], 808 956-2160.
