Career Visitation

Aloha, Vikings!  Are you interested in learning more about a career in the areas of Hotels, Travel and Tourism?  Hawaii Community College's Hospitality and Tourism Department will be here to share information with us on  –.  Please see Mrs. Frias in N-103 to sign up and pick up a pass.


Environmental Agents of Change

Aloha Environmental Agents of Change Members! There will be a very important meeting this Wednesday, March 29th during lunch recess in C-217 (Ms.R’s room). We will be going over our upcoming activities, workshops, and fundraisers. If you would like to pre-order a lunch for the meeting, please add your name to the Google Classroom announcement. Thank you and see you there!


KVIKS General Meeting

KVIKS Members, we will have a general meeting this week on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at C-215. To pre-order lunch, please go to google classroom and add your name. Don’t forget that you only have till today, March 29th, to pre-order. Thank you!


College Fair

Calling all Vikings in grades 9-11!  We have the opportunity to take a limited number of you to a College Fair on Friday, March 31st during pd 1.  If you are thinking about college after high school, and would like a chance to meet representatives from colleges/universities all over the United States, see Mrs. Frias in N-103 to pick up a field trip form.  The first 90 students who return their signed forms to Mrs. Frias will be able to attend.  Hope to see you there!


Junior Parent Night

Attention Juniors,

Junior Parent Night meeting will be held on Tuesday April 4, 2023. Please come with your parent/guardian to hear updates from your class council, college and career center and some senior year updates. Elections

Are you ready to have your student voice heard? The upcoming election for the school year 2023 - 2024 student office is just around the corner, and we want to ensure that you are fully prepared to cast your vote for the student leaders who will represent you. Over the next week, we will be introducing you to the incredible candidates running for class councils and student associations, so you can get to know them and their platforms better.


The election will be on Monday, April 3rd, 2023, during STARS, and make sure to exercise your right to vote! Your participation in the election is crucial to the success of our school, and we want to make sure that your voice is heard.


To show our candidate introductions, let's continue with the Class of 2024 Class Council.

TALENT EXTRAVAGANZA

Hey Vikings! Do you have a talent you want to showcase, well lucky for you the Hilo High Performing Arts Learning Center introduces its very own TALENT EXTRAVAGANZA come and support students as they perform their talent in the auditorium! The show will be on March 31 starting at 5:00 pm If you are interested in performing and showing your talent then you can check out the link @palc_hhs on instagram or you can email Khenin Dre [email protected] Or Harley Germano [email protected] admission is $7 for adults $5 for student and $3 for kids, cash only is accepted at the door money will go towards Hilo High performing arts learning center as this is a fundraiser to help put on the spring musical. 


ASVAB

All 10th-12th graders, the last ASVAB administration for this school year will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.


The test will be administered in C-215 and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB.

Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session has been reduced to 30.

C-215 will be closed all morning on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 to accommodate the test.


National Athletic Training Month

National Athletic Training Month is held every March in order to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. The 2023 slogan is “There’s an AT for That”. In honor of National Athletic Training Month, the Athletic Trainers are open to receiving donations of used medical equipment such as crutches and medical boots from home. If any households have any of these used medical equipment and nobody uses any more, please donate them to the Athletic Trainers, so they are able to pass them along to those who need them. Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to the Athletic Trainers Mark Samonsky and Hajime Ta-ka-shima for their hard work! Once again, thank you!
