Open House
Aloha Vikings! Join us for the Hilo High School Open House on August 30th, 2023, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm! Students and parents are invited to explore our campus, meet teachers, and learn about our programs and to all current and potential athletic players: There will be a mandatory meeting in the auditorium at 6:30 pm. Don't miss this opportunity to get important information about the upcoming sports season. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hey Vikings! We welcome you all to join our Hilo High Math Club! The math club participates in competitions against schools across the state. If you are interested or want more information please come to Mrs. Fukushima's room in R-12 on Friday, September 1, 2023 during lunch recess for an informational meeting.
AVIDccc
During Fall break, Nalukai is offering East Hawaiʻi Island high schools an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with social, cultural and commercial entrepreneurship. Through a week-long, in-person day camp inclusive of team work sessions, a field trip, and meetings with adult mentors (entrepreneurs, cultural practitioners, educators, and community leaders), students will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing our island and collaborate with others to develop products, services and other solutions to address them. As they develop their ventures, students will gain and practice essential leadership, entrepreneurship and presentation skills.

ASVAB Registration
All 10th-12th graders, this years first ASVAB administration is on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. The test will be administered in C-215 and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot. Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session have been reduced to 30. C-215 will be closed all morning on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 to accommodate the test.
Senior Portrait
Aloha Seniors! Have you made an appointment to get your senior portrait done? Have you emailed Mrs. Mant your Baby picture? Have you submitted a senior quote? Are you considering buying a senior Ad page with your friends? Please get it done as deadlines are quickly approaching. We want to celebrate you phoenixes and have a fantastic yearbook, so lets go Viks!! PSAT & N-M-S-Q-T Registration
The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023.Those who are 9th-11th grade, interested in attending college and taking the SAT should highly consider taking this practice test to better prepare you for the real SAT. 11th graders who qualify for Free or Reduced lunch test for free. For all others, the test costs $18. To register, fill out the google form. Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected]. Spaces are limited to the first 100 students so sign up now!

Chromebook Pick Upv
If you haven't received your Chromebook yet, please come to C-215 during recess or lunch this week to pick it up. As a reminder, you will need a signed 1-to-1 Technology Provision form, a form of ID, and have no outstanding technology obligations to receive your device. Need an extra form or turn it into the office? Feel free to stop by too. Thank you!
Taiko Club
Konnichiwa Vikings! If you are interested in joining Taiko Club this school year, tryouts will be held TOMORROW August 30th to September 13 every Wednesday, from 3pm to 4 pm, and Thursday, from 3:30pm to 4:15pm, in the band room. Please be prompt, bring water, wear shoes and something you can exercise in. Arigatou, hope to see you there!
