HAPPY HOMECOMING Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Monday, September 11th, 2023. I’m Kayla. Today, we have a modified bell schedule. The periods today are 2-RECESS-LOT-4-6. Our first homecoming LOT will be held at the pool, all students should report directly to the pool after recess. The LOT starts at 9:45 AM, so please, be in your seats and in the right section by then.

As a reminder Vikings, homecoming is a time when our alumni are welcomed back to our school. While they represent our past, ALL of you represent our present and future, so please, BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR! Pay close attention to the program, BE RESPECTFUL, do not engage in disruptive behavior and stop any conversations you may have with those next to you. CHEER LOUDLY, PARTICIPATE IN THE LOT ACTIVITIES! SHOW YOUR VIKING PRIDE through your -behavior.

–As you all know, today is September 11th. In addition to today’s festivities, we must also take some time to reflect back on that tragedy that changed so many people’s lives. Please give your attention to Richard in regards to today’s upcoming ceremony.

On September 11th, 2001, we saw how ordinary people became heroes, helping each other in the midst of chaos. It showed us the power of community and compassion. Remembering 9/11 is a way to honor the lives lost and the bravery of those who responded. It's a reminder to appreciate the freedom we enjoy every day and the importance of standing together.

Today, September 11th, 2023 there will be a honorary ceremony during the last 10 minutes of period 6. Join us at hilohigh.org/live or the Hilo High School YouTube Channel, or in person in front of the auditorium. This will feature a short message from Major Jeffery Nason, Hilo High School's JROTC, and Bugler Isaiah Chew. 9/11 is not just a date; it's a day that changed the world. [FADE TO BLACK]
