Senior Class Song
Aloha Seniors! As we sent out an email on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 regarding the song nomination for our commencement. We would encourage you all to submit a song in the google link that can be found at our instagram page, @hilohigh24. Choose a song that you think has a meaningful purpose to it and send it in. Please include the Song and Artist. TODAY, Friday, September 22, 2023 will be the last day to submit a song to us so please try your best to get it in! Thank you!
Art Club Meeting (9/20/23-9/22/23)
Attention Art Club members, We have an important meeting with the East Hawaii Cultural Center TODAY. Please report to Ms. Z's room (L-4) promptly after 7th period.
Pacific Youth Empowerment for Success Event (PacYES) (9/18/23-9/22/23)
Calling out ALL Pacific Islanders to register for a free event at the University of Hawaii at Hilo on Saturday, October 7th from 9am to 2pm. In PacYES, you will learn about college readiness from other Pacific Islander college students, apply for Hilo Community College, UH Hilo and get your decision on the spot and get connected to other Pacific Islanders in the community at the resource fair. An experience you won’t want to miss, there will be a lot of fun games, activities and prizes! Lunch will be provided.
ALL College applications are waived if you bring your transcripts in a sealed envelope!
This year we are opening up this event for parents to also come and attend. This could be a fun family activity on a Saturday! Please register by scanning the online QR code. For more information, you can email Ms Izawa if you have any questions or go to room C-125.
Academy of Health and Human Services STARS
This announcement is for all students and teachers in the Academy of Health and Human Services. If you are in the Education, Fire, Health, or Law Pathways, please report directly to the Auditorium for STARS on Monday, September 25th. We will have our first Academy meeting - see you there!
Bus Pass Applications (9/19/23- 9/22/23)
The application window for Quarter 2 bus passes starts this week. If you would like to ride for the second quarter, starting October 17th, you can submit your application online or pickup and return a paper copy at the main office. Those of you who have a Quarter 1 bus pass, you may still ride until Fall Break or October 6th. If you have any questions, please stop by the office.
College and Career Visitations (8/30/23 - 11/23/23)
Creighton University is visiting TODAY, Friday, September 22 at 10:00am during pd. 3. While John Hopkins University will be visiting Monday, 8:45am during pd. 2. Go to N-103 to get a pass from Mrs. Frias.

PSAT/NMSQT Registration Reminder (9/19/23- 10/3/23)
It is the last week to sign up Hilo High Students. After Wednesday PSAT will be opened to the public. Secure your spot now! The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023. Those who are 9th-11th grade, interested in attending college and taking the SAT should highly consider taking this practice test to better prepare you for the real SAT. 11th graders who qualify for Free/Reduced lunch tests free. For all others, the test costs $18. To register, fill out the google form. We still have many slots available so do not miss out on this opportunity and sign up NOW! Girls Basketball (9/12/23- 10/30/23)
Any girls that are interested in playing basketball for the school come to the old gym on Monday, Wednesday or Friday @ 6:30pm. Or Tuesday and Thursday @ 6-7pm.
