Girls and Boys Golf Sign-ups (10/2/23-10/6/23)

The Hilo High School Boys and Girls Golf Teams is having sign-ups this week from Monday, Oct. 2nd to Friday, Oct. 6. Returnees and newcomers please contact Coach Randy Pak at 808-934-0049. Call for sign-up and/or information


Student Credit Union Closed (10/2/23-10/6/23)

The Student Credit Union, located in the Student Activities room, A-16 will be CLOSED from October 5th to October 6th. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience.


Math Tutoring (10/2/23- 10/20/23)

Do you want help with your math skills and work?  Math tutoring is being offered daily in the mornings and after school by Ms. Park (room A-21) and/or Ms. Arbles (room A-22)....Please feel free to come by room A-21 for more information.  Attached is the schedule for math tutoring...Hope to see you there!


Environmental Agents of Change Forms (10/2/23-10/4/23)

Hey new and old EAC members! This is a reminder, Permission Forms and Fees are due this Wednesday, October 4th. Please submit your signed form and $5 fee to Ms. R at C-217 by Wednesday. If you’re interested and need a form stop by C-217 and pi ck one up. Thank you.


College Visitation (8/30/23 - 11/23/23)                    

Seniors! There will be a UH Hilo Application session on October 4 during pd 4 at 10:00am and during pd. 6 at 12:00pm. Come to N-103 to sign up and get a pass.

Seal of Biliteracy (9/29/23-10/3/23)

*****[After playing various students saying "Do you understand (a language)?" in various languages - they should be done recording by Wednesday.]*****


Good morning Seniors! 

Do you understand another language other than English? Are you a native speaker, heritage learner, or have been taking world language classes? If so, you should consider applying for the Seal of Biliteracy. 


The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by the Hawai‘i State Department of Education in recognition of students who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency in English and at least one additional language by high school graduation.


You can learn more about the Seal of Biliteracy at the informational meeting in room P-3, Shehata Sensei’s room, on Tuesday, October 3rd during lunch. Thank you!

Girls Basketball (9/12/23- 10/30/23)

Any girls that are interested in playing basketball for the school come to the old gym on Monday, Wednesday or Friday @ 6:30pm. Or Tuesday and Thursday @ 6-7pm


Career Expo and College Fair (9/25/23- 10/4/23)

We're excited to announce a field trip opportunity, open to all Hilo High School students.  On October 26th, we will be taking up to 130 interested students to participate in a Career Expo, and a College Fair back-to-back.  If you are interested in speaking with members of our community who work in a variety of fields, as well as meet college representatives from all over the United States, you should definitely attend!  This week, Sept 25-29, interested juniors and seniors can go to N-103 to pick up field trip forms.  Beginning Monday, Oct 2nd, interested freshmen and sophomores can pick up field trip forms.  Remember that space is limited, so pick up your forms, get them signed and returned to Mrs. Frias ASAP.
