Quarter 2 Bus Pass Renewal (10/5 - 10/6/23)
As a reminder, bus passes must be renewed every quarter. The application window for quarter 2 will be open until October 31st but students will be required to have their 2nd quarter bus pass when we return to school on Tuesday, October 17th. We strongly advise that you reapply prior to that date. Paper applications can be picked up at the front office or you may apply online at hi.etrition.com/busapplication. The office will be open throughout Fall Break, 8:00am to 4:00pm, to process new applications and bus payments. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.
Freshman STARS Representative Meeting (10/3/23-10/5/23)
If you are a Freshmen STAR Representative, please go to Mrs. Takata’s room C-206 today during lunch for an informational meeting.
KVIKS Media General Meeting TODAY (10/4 - 10/5/23)
KVIKS Media members are to meet at C-215 during lunch for our October General Meeting, we will go over upcoming broadcasting events and activities that we are participating in this month. We are also inaugurating our incoming officers. Please be prompt. If you want a pass to pick up your lunch before the bell, please stop by C-117 during first recess to pick it up.
HOSA Mandatory Meeting Today (10/5/23-10/6/23)
Aloha HOSA Club Members, there is a mandatory meeting today in Mr. Assi's class, room L2 during lunch. Your attendance is required as you will be provided information regarding the registration of the upcoming Hawaii Island HOSA Regional Conference at UH-Hilo, Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. During the meeting, you will be able to select your competitive events such as: Medical Terminology, Medical Math, Medical Law & Ethics, Medical Spelling, Job interview, Nursing assisting clinical skills and more.
Career Expo and College Fair (9/25/23- 10/4/23)
We're excited to announce a field trip opportunity, open to all Hilo High School students. On October 26th, we will be taking up to 130 interested students to participate in a Career Expo, and a College Fair back-to-back. If you are interested in speaking with members of our community who work in a variety of fields, as well as meet college representatives from all over the United States, you should definitely attend! This week, Sept 25-29, interested juniors and seniors can go to N-103 to pick up field trip forms. Beginning Monday, Oct 2nd, interested freshmen and sophomores can pick up field trip forms. Remember that space is limited, so pick up your forms, get them signed and returned to Mrs. Frias ASAP.-

Hilo High Canoe Paddling Sign-ups (10/4/23-10/6/23)
Are you interested in paddling? The Hilo High Canoe Paddling Team is having an Informational meeting and sign-ups, on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 @11:30am during Lunch recess. The meeting will be located at the Hilo High School Pool. Be sure to also present your physical! See you there!

Leo Club Announcements (10/4/23-10/4/23)
Attention Leo Club members! Please make sure to remember to turn in your forms and dues to Ms. T’s room by this Friday, October 6th! The sign ups for the latest project is on our google classroom, so please make sure to fill it out! If you have not already done so, please make sure you join the Google Classroom and check it frequently. The class code is ugqdtnq. For the upcoming projects, be sure to fill out the form EVEN IF you cannot participate in the projects! Thank you!
Viking Sports News [10/4 - 10/5/23)
This is Viking Sports News. On Monday for Girls Volleyball, in an intense matchup between Kamehameha Schools Hawaii, the Vikings fought until the end for an overtime upset of HILO 2, Kamehameha Schools Hawaii 3.
Our Viking Football Team plays at Keaau on Thursday, starting at 6 PM.
On Friday, the Cross Country team is traveling to HPA for a meet starting at 3:30 PM.
Next week during fall break, the Girls Volleyball team travels to Kealakehe on Wednesday, October 11. JV starting at 5 PM, with varsity to follow. Also on Wednesday is a Cheerleading Meet at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii starting at 5:30 PM. On Friday the 13th, the Viking Football team is at Kealakehe, starting at 6pm. Finally, on Saturday, October 14th, Air Riflery is shooting at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii at 9 AM.
Don’t forget to show up with BLUE AND GOLD to support our Viking athletes!
