October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (10/18/23-10/23/23)
[J] 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is estimated 297,790 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year. Please join us on Monday, October 23rd, in showing our support for these brave individuals. Wear pink and come to the front of the auditorium at lunch to grab a sweet treat if you choose to participate.
Hilo High Paddling Conditioning and Try-Outs (10/19/23-10/23/23)
[R]On Oct. 23, 25, 30 & 31 there will be Conditioning for Hilo High Canoe Paddling. It is not Mandatory but very much recommended! It will be from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. While on Nov. 6 is Try-Out’s that is Mandatory.
Art Club Youth Art Series Haunted House (10/19/23-10/21/23)
[J]Are you looking for some spooky fun this weekend? Art Club would like to invite you to the Youth Art Series Haunted House, opening this Saturday (10/21) from 4:00-7:00 PM at the East Hawai'i Cultural Center. Come check it out, Vikings!
Senior Luau Bids (10/18/23-10/19/23)
[R]Attention Class of 2024! This is a friendly reminder that Senior Luau Bids go on sale starting next week, October 23 - October 27, 2023 during Lunch Only at Mr. Yamamoto's Room, R-13. Please make sure all obligations are paid for prior to Thursday October 19, 2023 by 3:30pm with Aunty Allison at the front office. If you are NOT cleared by Thursday October 19, you will NOT be allowed to pick up a Senior Luau Bid Packet. Thank you!
AP Testing Exams (10/19/23-10/27/23)
[J]If you are currently enrolled in an AP class your AP Exam fees are due. Between October 24th - October 27th please come to Ms. Arquero's office in B33 during recess or lunch to pay them. Reminders were sent to All AP students. Payments can be made in EXACT cash or checks made out to "Hilo High School"
Interested in Model UN? (10/17/23-10/20/23)
[R]We are looking for members for the year of 2023-2024. This club will have meetings to discuss current events, political changes, the United Nations, and ways to improve the community. We will be participating and running many service projects and volunteering around the school and town! So make sure to Join! You can sign up with this QR code, or contact our President for more information.Our meetings are every even Friday from 1pm-3pm in Mrs. Aiona's Room (C219)
College and Career Visitations
[J]On October 20, 2023 University of Puget Sound will be visiting during pd.2 at 8:30am while Oregon State University is visiting during pd.4 at 10:00am. If you are interested in any of these upcoming presentations come to Room N-103 to sign up.

Girls Basketball (9/12/23- 10/30/23)
Any girls that are interested in playing basketball for the school come to the old gym on Monday, Wednesday or Friday @ 6:30pm. Or Tuesday and Thursday @ 6-7pm.
