Halloween Trick-or- Treat (10/26/23- 10/26/23)
(C)Boo! Hall oween is just around the corner, so that means it's time for some spooky festivities. On recess on Halloween, we will be having our own Hilo High trick-or-treat! If you're dressed up and bring something to hold candies in, you can go to any of the classes on the screen to get different types of treats! These teachers will also decorate their doors and dress up, so be sure to check out each classroom! Then, at lunch, we will be having a costume fashion show! If you dress up, now it's time to strut your stuff! We hope to see you all having a fun Halloween dress up!
Halloween Fashion Show(10/26/23-10/31/23)
(B)Hey Vikings! As you all know Halloween is coming up and we all have been working hard on our costumes! If you would like to show off all your hard work and get a sweet treat, join us for a fashion show on Tuesday, October 31st during lunch in front of the auditorium.
Seal of Biliteracy (10/24/23-10/27/23)
(C)Aloha Seniors! If you are planning to take the Seal of Biliteracy language proficiency test, please attend the registration workshop. Multiple language specific workshops are scheduled for upcoming weeks. The first workshop will be on Thursday, October 26th in the room C-125 for Hawaiian, Chuukese, Ilokano, Marshallese, Samoan, Tagalog, and Vietnamese languages
The second one will be on Friday, October 27th in room P-3 for Japanese, Spanish, Korean languages, Mandarin Chinese, and Russian. The last workshop will be on Monday, October 30th in the room P-3 for Tongan, Yapese, and all other languages. During the workshop, Shehata sensei will go over the registration form, sample test sites, and power-up guide with the test takers. If you have any question's, please see Shehata Sensei in P-3.
Filipino Club Meeting (10/26/23-10/26/23)
(B)Mabuhay Filipino Club Members! We will be holding a meeting today, Thursday, October 26th, 2023 during lunch in Ms. Camero's rm, B-32. During the meeting, we will be talking more about our pool party plans and giving out forms. We hope to see you there. Salamat!
Domestic Violence (10/25/23-10/26/23)
(C)Hello Vikings! Today, October 26th is domestic violence awareness day. Join us in wearing purple to support domestic violence survivors, and promote healthy and safe relationships!
Senior Luau Packet Pick up (10/23/23- 10/27/23)
(B)Attention Seniors! Senior Luau Packet Pick Up Began Monday October 23, lasting until Friday October 27, 2023. Packets will be available during Lunch ONLY outside of Mr. Yamamoto's Room, R-13. Seniors must come with their ID's in order to pick up a packet. Payment Collection will be held next week, October 30 - November 1. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Yamanaka in Rm. R-25 or Mr. Yamamoto in Rm. R-13. Mahalo!

Pacific Asian Affairs Council (10/25/23-10/25/23)
(B)Aloha Vikings, are you interested in taking the first steps towards being a global citizen? The Pacific Asian Affairs Council, or PAAC, is an up and coming club starting here in Hilo High School under the purpose of getting students involved in global issues. For those interested, an informational meeting will be held this Wednesday, October 25, afterschool from 1:15-2:00 in Shehata Sensei's Classroom. Girls Basketball (9/12/23- 10/30/23)
Any girls that are interested in playing basketball for the school come to the old gym on Monday, Wednesday or Friday @ 6:30pm. Or Tuesday and Thursday @ 6-7pm.
AP Testing Exams (10/19/23-10/27/23)
If you are currently enrolled in an AP class your AP Exam fees are due. Between October 24th - October 27th please come to Ms. Arquero's office in B33 during recess or lunch to pay them. Reminders were sent to All AP students. Payments can be made in EXACT cash or checks made out to "Hilo High School"

(t)Here are the results from last week’s competitions.
On Tuesday, the Girls Volleyball Team JV and Varsity Swept away the Keaau Cougars by winning all their sets.
On Thursday, Girls Volleyball Senior Night, the Waiakea Warriors put up a strong fight with each team winning sets back to back, but the Vikings came out on top by winning the fifth and final set.
On Saturday, the Football team defeated Waiakea High School 36 to 12.
(c)At the Air Riflery Finals, we have a BIIF CHAMP! Congratulations to Kathryn Son for placing 1st Place in the Girls Individual. Congratulations also to Haeli Baldwin, for placing 2nd.
In the Boys Individual, Kuhio Haili-Mizumoto placed 3rd, and Kamamalu Kotake placing 5th. Congratulations.
A delegation of players will be participating in the State Championships coming up soon! Good Luck Vikings!
