Boys Basketball Pre-Season Tournament (11/30 - 12/1)
The Hilo High School pre-season boys basketball tournament is in full swing! It continues today, December 1st, 2023, from 1:30 PM for a JV matchup between Hilo and Waiakea, and starting at 12:30 PM on Saturday. Come to cheer on our Vikings!
Ceramics Club Meeting Today (11/30-12/1/)
Ceramics Club Members, there is a meeting today during lunch in C-101. Bring a friend.
Fellowship Of Christian Athletes Meeting at Pool (11/28/23-12/1/23)
Today, Friday, December 1st, please join the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club for free home-cooked food, fellowship, and fun down by the pool during lunch! You don’t need to be an athlete or a Christian just come and see!
Last Day for Winter Ball Packet Drop Off(11/27-12/1)
Today is the last day to drop off your completed winter ball packet and payment to F-Building during lunch. Payments are accepted in cash only and change is available if you do not have the exact amount.
Applications for Academy Student Ambassador (11/29-12/1)
Today, December 1st , is the deadline for students to submit their Student Ambassador Applications to their CTE pathway teachers. If you are interested, please do so promptly.
WHAT’S NEW VIKINGS?
Christmas Corners (12/1/2023)
Christmas Corners packets are due TODAY, December 1st, by lunch recess in Room R-13. If you do not turn in a packet and the needed SA-1 forms, you will be unable to participate in the decoration contest. For those that already have turned in packets, we will have a mandatory meeting on Monday during lunch recess. All student leads of corners must attend for necessary reminders and updates for the event!
New Leo Club Projects (12/1-12/1)
All LEO Club Members! A NEW project was posted in Google Classroom on November 28th.
Please check the Google form and respond whether or not you will be able to attend.

Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (11/3/23-12/2/23)
The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the Honolulu Theatre for Youth are currently hosting the 2023-24 Poetry Out Loud Video Submission Contest! To participate, choose two poems from a collection of over 1,000 poems to recite for a chance to participate in the State Finals on February 25, 2024, win $200, and the opportunity to compete for the title of National Champion in Spring 2024! Videos are due on December 31st, to register, contact [email protected] or DM @hi_pol on Instagram. Don't miss out on this awesome opportunity to share your love for the arts and express yourself.
Competitive College Sports (11/21/23-12/1/23)
Are you interested in learning more about playing competitive sports in college? If you are, you're in luck! Hilo High School is teaming up with UH Hilo's Athletic Department to provide all the information you need to get started. Join us on Wednesday, December 6th @ 5:30pm in the Hilo High Auditorium. Girls Softball (11/29-12/4)
The Hilo High Vikings Girls Softball Team will start practice and conditioning on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Practice will be at the Walter Victor Stadium, Little League Field. Practice and conditioning will be held every day from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. If you have questions, contact Assistant Coach Noe Kalipi at 808-285-2191.
