6-  So, on the first day of every week for the month of February, KVIKS will air a video with the Hawaiian value of the week.  This video will also have a challenge for all of us for that week.

8-Yes, so, if you are seen practicing the Hawaiian value of the week by an adult on campus, you will be nominated to win a prize for that week.  So, make sure you keep the value in mind.  In this way, we bring our Hawaiian values to life with hopes that it will be a natural and normal practice on our campus.

Introduction to Hawaiian Language Month

1-Aloha-ʻo wau ʻo Keli’i

2-Aloha- ʻo wau ʻo Puanani

3-E Puanani, ua ʻike anei ʻoe, ʻO Pepeluali ka mahina ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi?

4-ʻAe, I did know that February is Hawaiian language month. ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi was recognized as one of two official state languages in Hawaiʻi, and in 2012, an amendment to the Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes 8-24 provided that the month of February be designated as “ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi Month”. Keliʻi, did you know that this measure was  the first Act to be codified in Hawaiian and English.

5-ʻAe.  A ʻōlelo ʻia: “Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi: E ʻike mau, a e kapa ʻia ana aʻe, ka mahina ʻo Pepeluali, ʻo ia ka ‘Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi’, i mea e hoʻomaikaʻi, a e paipai aku ai, i ka ʻōlelo ʻana o ua ʻōlelo Makuahine nei lā.

6-  ʻAe--February shall be known and designated as ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi Month to celebrate and encourage the use of Hawaiian language.

7-A ʻo ia!  No laila, e ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi kākou i kēia Pepeluali!

8-ʻAe!  Let us all practice our Hawaiian language this February!

TOGETHER: E Ola Ka ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi! Aloha!
