WHAT'S NEW VIKINGS? 


Student Association Election Packets (4/1/24-4/3/24)

Attention Class Council and Student Association candidates!

This is a reminder that the deadline to turn your election packets in for office is Tuesday, April 2nd in Room A-16! Those who have submitted their application by the April 2nd deadline must also attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd at lunch recess in Mr. Yamamoto’s Room R-14. You must attend this mandatory meeting in order to run, so please clear your schedules!


Japan Club Meeting (4/1/24-4/4/24)

Konichiwa Japan Club Members, There will be a meeting during lunch on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Shehata Sensei rm P-3 we will be discussing upcoming events and community service. Hope to see you there.Mata Nei


Pacific Lutheran University Presentation (4/2/24-4/18/24) 

There will be a presentation about Pacific Lutheran University from Tacoma, Washington. On Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 8:45am during Pd. 1. The Speaker will be Brandon Braun. Please come on down to Rm. N-103 to pick a pass to attend this informative college  presentation.

Grad Nite (4/1/24-4/30/24)

Seniors! If you haven't already submitted your Grad Nite permission forms and still want to attend this Fun overnight party, please submit your forms and payment to Ms. Switzer in Rm.A-16. Forms are still being collected and it is encouraged for ALL seniors to participate in this unforgettable event. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Switzer in A-16 or Mr. Yamamoto in Rm.R-13.


Credit Union Youth Month (4/2/24-4/12/24)

Did YOU know it's Credit Union Youth Month at the Hawai'i Community Federal Credit Union? That means that this month is all about celebrating the members of our very own Student Credit Union here at Hilo High! From now until April 12, 2024, if YOU create a Student Credit Union Account OR deposit $50 if you're already a member, you'll receive a surprise gift from the Hawai'i Community Federal Credit Union! Don't know how to join? Instructions are posted outside of room A-16 and on the Hilo High Instagram! As always, our Student Credit Union is open everyday during lunch in front of A-16, so stop by to create your account or deposit money.

Art Club Meeting (3/28/24-4/5/24)

Attention Art Club Members: For our next meeting on Friday, April 5th, we are meeting down at the East Hawai'i Cultural Center after school. Please have a parent/guardian complete the permission form posted on Google Classroom. Stop by Ms. Z's room in L-4 if you have any questions.


Class of 2025 Junior Parent Night (3/28/2024 - 4/2/2024)

Aloha, Class of 2025 Juniors!  There will be a Junior student and Parent Night on Tuesday, April 2nd.  Please look for the email from Mrs. Frias, and fill out the Google Form to let us know if you and your family plan to attend.  The meeting will begin at 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 2nd in the Hilo High Cafeteria, and will last about an hour.  You will learn about your upcoming Senior Year events, as well as PTP workshops and Career and College planning information.  See Mrs. Frias in N-103 if you have any questions.  We hope to see you there!

Other Announcements


ASVAB Testing (3/11/24-4/5/24)

All 10th-12th graders, the LAST ASVAB administration for this school year will be on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. The test will be administered in C-215 and will start promptly at 8:10 AM. If you are planning on joining the military post-high school, you will need to take the ASVAB. 

Email Ms. Arquero at [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Due to COVID-19, the number of test-takers per session has been reduced to 30.

C-215 will be closed all morning on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 to accommodate the test.
