TODAY AT HILO HIGH SCHOOL
Senior Mob Shot (9/23/24)
Attention Seniors! Senior Mob Shot is TODAY, September 23rd, 2024 at the New Gym during STARS. You will be going down to the New Gym using the track sidewalk after the recess bell rings, NOT with your STARS Class. Your posters and SPAV status will be checked as you make your way to the New Gym. NO SPAV = NO PARTICIPATION.
Picture Retakes (9/11/24-9/23/24)
Picture retakes are happening RIGHT NOW in C-215 until 9 AM. Students, if you need a retake, please ask your teacher to send you to C-215 NOW before 9 AM.

College Visitations
We have the following visitations scheduled in the Career and College Counseling office this week:
TOMORROW, September 24 - Period 5 - Arizona State University
Wednesday, September 25 - Period 2 - Grand Canyon University
Period 4 - UH Hilo Application Session 1
Friday, September 27 - Period 3 and 5 - Hawaii Community College Information and Applications
Please go to N-103 to sign up for a session and pick up a pass to attend.
PSAT/NMSQT Registration (9/16/24-9/27/24)
The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024 in the Hilo High Cafeteria. Those who are in 9th-11th grade, interested in attending college, and taking the SAT should consider taking this practice test to better prepare them for the real SAT. 11th graders who qualify for Free/Reduced lunches test for free. For all others, the test costs $18. To register, fill out the Google Form on screen. Spaces are limited to the first 100 students so sign up now! The last day to register is Wednesday, September 25th.
ATHLETICS
Boys and Girls Tennis (9/16/24-9/23/24)
Boys & Girls interested in trying out for tennis this year are welcome to come out to their off-season hitting practices. See coach Leanne in F-Building for information.
Swim Team Tryouts (9/19/24-9/24/24)
Hey Vikings,If you are interested in trying out for a spot on the Hilo High Swim Team, please attend the informational meeting on Tuesday, September 24th during lunch at the pool in Section C. We hope to see you there!
Girls Basketball (8/20/24-9/30/24)
Any girls that are interested in playing basketball meet coach Fred at the old gym at 6:20pm (after air riflery practice) every Monday and Wednesday.

Bus Pass Applications (9/17/24-9/27/24)
The application window for Quarter 2 bus passes is now open until November 15th. If you would like to ride for the second quarter, you can submit your application online or pickup and return a paper copy at the main office. Those of you who have a Quarter 1 bus pass may still ride until Fall Break or October 4th. If you have any questions, please stop by the office.

Person 1: Are YOU ready for homecoming?
Person 2: Our theme, the elements of Hilo High, shows off our uniqueness as people and how we all come together as Vikings!
Person 1: We are kicking off the week on Monday, September 30, 2024, and the theme for this day is CLASS PRIDE! Wear your class shirt or colors to celebrate friendly competition between our classes!
Person 2: We will also be holding our Opening Homecoming LOT at the pool, where class decorations and banner competitions will take place. Plus, we’ll all enjoy a special performance by our homecoming court and a few other surprises!
Person 1: We hope you’re all ready for a week full of fun, and come dressed in your CLASS COLORS!

Attention Class of 2025! Senior class song nominations are approaching! Start thinking of song nominations & keep an eye out for the link to submit your choices, which will be sent out soon.
