The County of Hawaii is actively working to encourage more children and their families to bike and walk to school. To better understand the barriers that students experience across the island, they have published the Hawaii Island Travel Survey on their new Hawaii County Safe Routes to School webpage.
By gathering information on the unique situations faced by each school, they will be able to effectively address the concerns and needs of individual communities. This effort is part of the County's goal to motivate more people to use alternative forms of transportation.
Please visit the site to complete the survey and feel free to share this information with anyone who might be interested.
