Good Morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. My name is Max. The periods today are 2, 4, and 6.

 

HERE ARE THE LATEST UPDATES ON SPORTS CONDITIONING, TRAINING, AND TRYOUTS

 

Boys Volleyball Conditioning (1/29/25-1/30/25)

Conditioning will be tomorrow and Thursday from 6pm-7:30pm at the new gym. All students need to have a current physical.

 

Girls Tennis Tryouts (1/29/25-2/11/25)

Tryouts for Girls Tennis are on Monday Feb 10, Tuesday Feb 11, and Wednesday Feb 12 from 4-6pm at Hilo Intermediate courts across the street. Remember- No Physical, No Tryouts.

 

Boys Tennis Sign Ups (1/28/25-1/30/25)

Kari Hock has been named the 2025 Hilo High Boys Tennis Coach. Currently coaching the Girls' soccer team, Kari has played tennis and soccer at the University of Washington and has coached tennis in Washington and North Carolina. She is excited to develop the Vikings tennis program.

 

Kari will be holding sign ups for Boys Tennis on Thursday January 30, 2025 at 6pm at the pool.  Any students who are interested in participating in Hilo High School Tennis should attend.  

The dates for Team Tryouts will be announced at signups. For more information, contact the athletic office at 313-5600.

Kahuapono 2025 Summer Applications (1/29/25-2/3/25)

This program engages students in grades 6-12 through hands-on restoration work in ʻāina-based learning and takes students to natural areas across Hawaiʻi Island to learn about Hawaiʻi's unique plants, animals, and ecosystems. Students leave with a sense of place and responsibility to care for our island home. For more information or if you are interested in being a part of this amazing program, apply online via the link on the image on your screen or visit Mrs. Baum in A12a . Applications are due May 6th, 2025.

 

Valentines Day Sale (1/24/25-1/31/25)

FEBRUARY is just around the corner, so you know what that means: Valentine's Day is almost here! If you want to get a gift for your friends or that special someone, Student Association has you covered with their VALENTINES DAY SALE! The sale will take place from MONDAY, January 27 to FRIDAY, January 31st in front of room C-127, Mr. Peralta’s class during lunch. The items for sale and prices are on the screen. You can either pick up your purchased items on Valentine's Day OR have them delivered to a class for one extra dollar. Remember to stop by room C-127 if you would like to purchase any items this Valentine’s Day!

FCA Meeting (1/28/25-1/30/25)

There is an FCA Meeting TOMORROW January 30th during lunch at the pool. There will be a guest speaker to praise the word of God. Come down and bring a friend to hang out and eat pizza.

 

Math Team Meet and Practices (1/27/24-1/29/25)

The next meet is this Saturday, February 1st, right here at Hilo High, starting at 9am. Arrive by 8:45am. Mr. Young will be available Tuesday and Thursday after school for practice. Respond to Mr. Young's email whether or not you will be able to attend the meet.

 

PALC Variety Show (1/15/2025 - 1/31/2025)

Interested in showing off your talents? Sign up for PALC’s Variety Show! Please use the QR code on the screen to apply. Deadline to apply is February 7th, 2025.

Junior Spirit Week (01/28/25-01/31/2025)

Hey, Juniors!

 

We’re excited to share some fun activities planned for you this week. Let’s show our spirit and make Junior Days unforgettable!

 

On Wednesday, it’s Rustic Rodeo!

Dress in your best rodeo gear—cowboy hats, boots, and denim are encouraged!

Join us in front of the auditorium during lunch for some country trivia. You’ll have a chance to win awesome prizes!

 

Thursday is Blackout BBQ.

Come to school dressed in all black!

Head to the patio at lunch to claim your prizes if you participate. It’s a great chance to have some fun and enjoy treats with your friends.

 

And Friday wraps it up with Tiger’s Gold Rush.

Wear your class colors—black and gold—or your class shirt to show off your tiger pride!

Take part in our scavenger hunt throughout the day. Look for gold coins around campus and turn them into room A-16 to win some prizes!

Girls Water Polo  (1/21/25-2/7/25)

Preseason Training is at the Hilo High Pool from 5:15-6:45 pm! This is a great opportunity to receive a soft intro to the sport & meet some of the coaches and players before the season officially begins on February 10th! No obligations and no experience necessary!
