FINANCIAL FRIDAYS (2/21/25)

Happy FINANCIAL FRIDAYS Vikings! Today, we’re talking about CREDIT SCORES!

You’ve probably heard adults talk about them, but what is a credit score, and why does it matter? A credit score is like a financial report card—it shows how responsible you are with money. A higher score can help you:

Get approved for loans (like a car loan or even a house one day!)

Score lower interest rates (which saves you money in the long run!)

Get better deals on things like phone plans and even renting an apartment because a high credit score shows that you are responsible with your money!

But how can you build a good credit score?

Always pay bills on time whether it be for your electricity, phone, or even subscription services!

Keep your credit card balance low (basically.. Don’t max out your card!)

Credit scores might not seem important now, but trust me—your future self will thank you for paying attention and remembering to be RESPONSIBLE with your money! Want to learn more? Visit our Hilo High Student Credit Union in A-13 to start building smart financial habits today! Happy Financial Friday!
