TODAY AT HILO HIGH SCHOOL
Meikun High Visitation (3/4/25)
Ohayo gozaimasu! TODAY, March 4th 2025, 31-Meikun High School students from Niigata, Japan, will visit Hilo High School from 8:30 and participate in various classrooms. Please welcome them and share your Aloha. When you see them, you can greet them with "Konnichi wa!" with your smile! "Konnichiwa!" means hello in the Japanese language. We hope you use the word "Konnichiwa" and make a new friend from Japan!
BRIGHT SPOT
Congratulations to the following talented Fine Arts students whose work has been accepted to the East Hawai'i Cultural Center Young at Art Show: Anelaokalani Tolentino, Hi'ilei Alexander, Rianne Empaynado, and Jaysha Rassmusen. Way to go, Viking artists!
To kick off the Young at Art Show, join us at The Youth Arts Fest this Saturday (3/8) at Kalakaua park from 10am-2:00pm. Hilo High Art Club and many other vendors will be there with games, prizes, and more!
HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN CAREER AND COLLEGE COUNSELING OFFICE
Speaker Sessions (2/26/25-3/4/25)
The Career and College Counseling office is excited to invite you to TWO speaker sessions. TODAY, March 4th, there will be a presentation about the Air Force ROTC Scholarship during pd 1 at 8:30am. Please see Mrs. Frias in N-103 for a pass to attend.
And on Friday, March 7th, the Army National Guard will have a table in the patio during lunch. Please swing by to ask questions and find out how the National Guard can help you to build a bright future!

KVIKS Media General Meeting (3/3/25-3/7/25)
Attention all KVIKS Media Members, our General Meeting has been moved to Friday, March 7th in C-215. If you are unable to make it, please let Rianne or your Personnel Officer know. If you can make it and want to get lunch early, please pick up a lunch slip in C-117. Mahalo.
Mandatory Band and Hula Meeting (3/3/25-3/5/25)
Attention to all Viking Band and Hula students who are going on the Honolulu Festival Trip. There will be a mandatory meeting for students and parents TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 5th in the cafeteria at 6pm.
Art Club Permission Forms (3/3/25-3/7/25)
Art Club members! Please stop by Ms. Z's room (L-4) to pick up a permission form for the Youth Arts Festival if you have not done so already. You will be meeting this Friday after school to prepare for the festival.
ACE Field Trip (3/3/25-3/5/25)
Attention all ACE academy students going on Wednesday's excursion to UH Hilo and/or HCC. Students need to report to the bus and find the correct bus to get on BEFORE 8:10 AM. The bus will leave at 8:15 AM. Bring a pen/pencil and a water bottle/hydro (if you want), but no backpack is needed.
Environmental Agents of Change (Tuesdays and Thursdays Until 4/11/2025)
Aloha VIKINGS, EAC is launching a plastic collection project for the months of March and April. Please have a look at this video.

STAR ATTENDANCE DATES (2/3/25-5/19/25)
This semester's STAR Attendance Classes will resume TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2pm-4pm in the Cafeteria. The full STAR Attendance schedule is up on the screen.

ACT Testing (2/26/25-3/6/25)
Get ready Vikings! Thursday, March 6th will be ACT and Pre-ACT testing.
All 9th and 10th graders will be taking the Pre-ACT test in their stars advisory class.
All 11th graders will be taking the ACT test in the NEW gym.
Here are things to bring...
A number 2 pencil, Water, snacks, an approved calculator which is optional.
Get a good night's sleep, Eat a healthy breakfast, and Arrive early to give yourself time to relax.
Please come to school on time. Once testing has started you will not be allowed in the testing room.
PALC Variety Show (2/21/25-3/7/25)
