[KVIKS NEWS BULLETIN INTRO]

Good Morning Vikings! This is your K-V-I-K-S News Bulletin for Monday, March 10th, 2025. My name is Richell. The periods today are 2, STARS,  4, and 6.

Today is the start of our SPRING SPIRIT WEEK! Today's theme is Mix n Match Monday, so we hope you're dressed in your best random outfits, mixing patterns, colors, and everything else! TOMORROW is Twin Tuesday, so whether it's Batman and Robin, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Spongbob and Patrick, or so many more, dress as a DYNAMIC DUO with a friend! And don't forget to post your looks and tag @hilohighschool on Instagram to earn points for your class! Happy Spirit Week, Vikings!

 WHAT’S NEW VIKINGS?

Lunch Line Reminder (3/7/25-3/14/25)

No one likes long lines to pick up lunch. Speed up the process by having your school ID ready! As a reminder, it is school policy to have your ID on-person at all times, so, if you are one of those students who hold up the lunch line because you forgot it, you are part of the problem. Request a copy of your ID from the main office for free, or have it ready on the Hilo High App.

AP Class Contracts (3/7/25-3/13/25)

AP Contracts were distributed to students who requested AP Classes for next school year.  They are due Friday, March 14th.  If you did not receive a contract, please pick one up at the registrar's office immediately.  If you do not turn in your AP Contract, the school will assume that you are no longer interested in taking the course and your course request for next year will be deleted.

Nalukai Academy Summer Program (3/10/25-3/11/25)

This program is an intensive social, cultural, and business entrepreneurship boarding program for Hawaiʻi high school students. Students receive guidance from industry experts, community leaders, and cultural practitioners to explore local issues, develop innovative solutions, and pitch their ideas to community stakeholders. Tuition, room and board are covered for all admitted students, who will also receive a professional-grade laptop they may keep upon completion of the program.

This year’s program will be held at Liliʻuokalani Center in Honolulu from June 20th - 29th. Additional details and the student application can be found on our website at nalukai.org. Student applications and letters of recommendation (one required for each student) must be submitted by April 14th.
