Senior Week (4/2/25-4/11/25)

Hey Seniors! It's Senior Week! Today’s dress-up theme is Dress to your beat! Dress up as your music tastes- for example, if you like rap, dress up as a rapper and join in front of the auditorium for a game of musical chairs during lunch! Tomorrow’s theme is Future Career Day! What do you want to be when you grow up? Dress up as what you want to do. Don’t forget to turn in your 

Financial Reality Fair forms! (4/4/25-4/9/25)

Seniors! This isn’t your average presentation—it’s a hands-on, interactive game where you'll face real-life money choices like taxes, bills, and loans. Learn how to manage your finances and get the chance to win prizes of $25, $50, $75, or even $100! Permission forms are DUE TODAY in Room A-16 to attend. Don’t miss out!

 

HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

The Academy of Health and Human Services would like to invite Vikings from ANY ACADEMY to attend the following Career Panels during the week of April 14-17:

 

Monday, Apr 14 - Fire and Emergency Services - pd 6

Tuesday, Apr 15 - Law and Law Enforcement Services - pd 3

Wednesday, Apr 16 - Health Services - pd 4

Thursday, Apr 17 - Education - pd 7

 

On each day, speakers from a variety of different professions will share information about their careers, how they got to the level they are at now, and what you might want to know if you're interested in pursuing the career in the future. Please see Mrs. Frias or Ms. Lawrence in N-103 to sign up for a session and pick up a pass to attend. We hope to see you there!

 

WHAT’S NEW VIKINGS?

 

Math Meet (4/8/25-4/9/25)

Aloha Math Team members, otherwise known as Mathletes! The last meet is this Saturday, April 12th, right here at Hilo High School. Please respond to Mr. Young's email if you are able to attend. Mr. Young will be available for practice on just Tuesday after school this week. Swing by then, or swing by any other time to grab some practice problems to try. Mr. Young's got 99 problems. Woop woop. Hope to see you at practice and the last meet. Go Viking Mathletes!!

 

PALC Spring Musical (4/8/25-5/2/25)

PALC is proud to announce that they will be performing ‘Hadestown Teen Edition’ at the Hilo High Auditorium from May 2nd to the 4th, & May 9th through the 11th. Friday and Saturday show times are at 7:00PM, doors open at 6:30 PM. Sunday show times are at 2:00PM, doors open at 1:30PM. Admission is $5 per person, cash only.  Hope to see you there!

Aloha kākou, attention all mayday performers, your applications are due Wednesday 4/9 to Kumu Heather in room R-20. Screening will be on Wednesday 4/16 after school in the old gym from 1:30pm. If you have any questions you can talk to Kumu Heather in room R-20 or Kumu Awa in K-101. Mahalo

 

BRIGHTSPOT

Congratulations to Hilo High Students Keoni Randolph, Senaka Reddy, and John Tagaca who participated in the State Debate Tournament held at Kamehameha Schools - Kapalama, on Oahu. Keoni and Senaka took second in the state, qualifying them to compete at the National Tournament in DesMoines this June. Again, congratulations to our speech and debate students!
