Senior Week (4/2/25-4/11/25)
Hey Seniors! It's Senior Week! Today’s dress-up theme is Future Career Day! What do you want to be when you grow up? Dress up as what you want to do. Tomorrow’s theme to close off Senior Week is Class colors! Wear your class shirt or class colors (white and gold) and come to the front of the auditorium during lunch for ice cream!
Also, Seniors! Don’t forget that today is the Financial Reality Fair! This isn't your average lecture. You'll be navigating real-life scenarios, from budgeting for rent and groceries to managing student loans and those unexpected expenses. Think of it as a crash course in adulting – but fun! You will be attending during your respective session in the New Gym. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable skills and avoid future financial headaches. See you there!
HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
The Academy of Health and Human Services would like to invite Vikings from ANY ACADEMY to attend the following Career Panels during the week of April 14-17:
Monday, Apr 14 - Fire and Emergency Services - pd 6
Tuesday, Apr 15 - Law and Law Enforcement Services - pd 3
Wednesday, Apr 16 - Health Services - pd 4
Thursday, Apr 17 - Education - pd 7
On each day, speakers from a variety of different professions will share information about their careers, how they got to the level they are at now, and what you might want to know if you're interested in pursuing the career in the future. Please see Mrs. Frias or Ms. Lawrence in N-103 to sign up for a session and pick up a pass to attend. We hope to see you there!
WHAT’S NEW VIKINGS?
Summer Math Camp 2025 (4/10/25-4/25/25)
Aloha current HHS 9th students, This summer, Hilo High will offer a free and fun Mathematics course called Math Camp. You can earn a 1/2 elective credit. Students will be able to increase their math skills and confidence with solving math problems. The class is open to the first 30 students who sign up. If you have any questions, or want to sign up, stop by either Ms. Park's class in A21 or Mr. George's class in A24.
PALC Spring Musical (4/8/25-5/2/25)
PALC is proud to announce that they will be performing ‘Hadestown Teen Edition’ at the Hilo High Auditorium from May 2nd to the 4th, & May 9th through the 11th. Friday and Saturday show times are at 7:00PM, doors open at 6:30 PM. Sunday show times are at 2:00PM, doors open at 1:30PM. Admission is $5 per person, cash only. Hope to see you there!
STAR ATTENDANCE (2/3/25-5/19/25)
There will be a STAR Attendance Class This Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 8am-12:20pm in the Cafeteria. Students must have assigned work from their teacher and a valid Hilo High ID to enter. All regular school rules apply. Please check with your teachers and counselors, as these are your last few chances to make up for your absence.

Congratulations to Hilo High Students Keoni Randolph, Senaka Reddy, and John Tagaca who participated in the State Debate Tournament held at Kamehameha Schools - Kapalama, on Oahu. Keoni and Senaka took second in the state, qualifying them to compete at the National Tournament in DesMoines this June. Again, congratulations to our speech and debate students!
