Art Club Meeting (5/7/25-5/9/25)
Aloha Art Club! Come join us TODAY, May 9th 1:30-2:30pm in L-4 to celebrate the end of the school year with snacks and painting! See you there!
PALC Spring Musical (4/8/25-5/2/25)
PALC will be performing ‘Hadestown Teen Edition’ at the Hilo High Auditorium from TODAY, May 9th through the 11th. Friday and Saturday show times are at 7:00PM, doors open at 6:30 PM. Sunday show times are at 2:00PM, doors open at 1:30PM. Admission is $5 per person, cash only. Hope to see you there!
WHAT’S NEW VIKINGS?
Yearbook Distribution Dates (5/8/25-5/15/25)
The 2025 yearbooks are finally here! Come pick up your copy during lunch next week in L-5 (Mrs. Blair's room). Distribution will go by class:
Monday, May 12 – Seniors
Tuesday, May 13 – Juniors
Wednesday, May 14 – Sophomores
Thursday, May 15 – Freshmen
Friday, May 16 – No pickups
If you missed your day, don’t worry! Make-up pickups will be available the following week:
Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20 during lunch. If you're not sure if you already purchased a yearbook, a list of pre-purchased books are posted outside of L-5 starting today. Don’t miss out on your memories
ALSO, If you’d like to purchase a physical copy of the Yearbook Spring Supplement, please bring $10 to L-2 Ms. Blair’s room. Not interested in purchasing the supplement? No worries! You can still access the digital copy by scanning the QR code provided.
ACE STARS Meeting (5/9/25-5/12/25)
9th and 10th grade ACE students! You will have an ALL ACE STARS meeting on Monday, May 12, in the auditorium. Please report to the auditorium directly after the recess and sit in your assigned rows with your STARS class. Thank you!
Girls Basketball Skill Workouts (5/7/25-5/30/25)
Any girls who are interested in playing basketball next year, there are skills workouts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6pm to 7:45pm
Junior Concession Donations (5/6/25-5/16/25)
Attention Juniors! Donations are needed to help support Junior Concession at Commencement. If you’d like to contribute, please see Ms. Hoota in Room B-42 to pick up a donation form. Let’s all pitch in to make this fundraiser a success!
ALSO, JUNIORS! Don’t forget to schedule your senior portraits! Appointments are filling up fast, so make sure to book yours as soon as possible. Remember, you get one FREE photo with Reed Takaaze — don’t miss out on that opportunity! The deadline to book is June 13th, so don’t wait. Secure your spot today and smile for the yearbook!
May Day Stage Rehearsals (5/7/25-5/12/25)
Calling all of our 2025 May Day Hōʻike performers. May Day is next Friday and we hope that everyone is excited for a big week. Performers will report to the new gym on Monday, May 12th, at 1:30pm. This will be your opportunity to stage your performances and run through some of them. Each group will have 15 minutes TOTAL to stage before another group will have a chance to stage. If you have any questions, please feel free to see Kumu ʻAwa in K101.
ALSO, Students! Didnʻt make it to the new gym for May Day ticket sales? Well youʻre in luck, tickets will be sold out of K-101, Kumu ʻAwa's room for students and staff only. For guests outside of Hilo High School they will be able to purchase tickets at the front office. Mahalo!
SCU Appreciation Week (5/7/25-5/9/25)
Student credit union members! It's member appreciation week! That means you can come to the credit union, A-13, any day this week during lunch to get a FREE bag of Kona Chips! That's right, all credit union members can come to the credit union during lunch this week for a free bag of Kona Chips! And freshmen, remember that the last day to join and get a $10 Starbucks gift card is THIS FRIDAY, May 9th, so remember to join, there's nothing to lose!

Song Practice Make-ups (5/9/15-5/13/25)
Last song practice make-up! The last day to make-up a practice you missed is on May 13th during lunch in RM A-22. How do you know if you should make-up? If you were late to any Monday song practices, scheduled a doctor's appointment during a Monday song practice, or if you stayed home because you were ill during a Monday song practice.

Get ready to show your pride because Cultural Week is coming up: May 12th to 16th!
Each day is a chance to celebrate who you are and where you come from through fun, themed dress-up days leading up to our epic Hōʻike La Mei on Friday!
On Monday, May 12, it’s Represent Your Culture Day!
Wear something that shows off your roots: whether it's a traditional outfit from your culture, your flag colors, or anything else that is special to YOUR culture! Today’s the day to show it off!
Wednesday, May 14 is Cultural ICONS Day!
From iconic singers, actors, and celebrities, to popular characters, dress up as someone iconic from your culture who you want to celebrate!
Friday, May 16 is Aloha Friday!
End the week strong in your best Aloha Attire as we celebrate our May Day Hōʻike at the end of the day! And don’t forget, join us that evening in the New Gym for the Hōʻike La Mei Evening Show! Doors open at 5 and the show starts at 6- check room K-101 for ticket info!
Let’s make this week one to remember and celebrate the diverse cultures that make Hilo High so special! Remember, if you don’t feel like repping your culture during this week, you can always wear your awesome Aloha Wear all week!
