A Tsunami Warning was put into effect for the entire State of Hawaii on the afternoon of July 29, 2025.
As a result of the warning, school officials quickly cancelled co-curricular and extra-curricular events for July 29th.
After initial impacts of the tsunami were assessed, the warning was downgraded to an advisory level at a little before midnight. The all-clear cancellation was issued to all counties by Emergency Management officials shortly thereafter.
NOTICE: All HIDOE schools and offices will reopen, and normal operations will resume on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Mahalo for your continued flexibility and cooperation throughout the day’s events.
